Tips on Beating the Zone Defense in Basketball

1 Player running the baseline, corner to corner, swing to him and force the forwards to extend out.

1 Player standing at the foul line, back to basket, flashing to the ball as it is swung around the perimeter. Try to get the ball to him, he should be in between the two guards playing up top and one or both will likely jump to him if he gets the ball, this leaves one or two of the perimeter players open, as well as the man in the corner.

Getting the ball to this high post area will sometimes draw the center up, leaving a huge lane in the midde, as well as a 1 on 1 match up down low with preferably your biggest/best post player.

if nobody jumps to the high post, this player ,usually the 4, has a good look at a foul line jumper or a driving finish.

and finally, something nobody really mentioned, CRASH THE BOARDS! when teams play zone the boxing out is much more difficult because they are not assigned to a man to box out and often just jump for the rebound. Often the guards will start heading the other way expecting an outlet pass, this is an opportunity for the offensive guards to really do damge on the glass.

Have a large rather heavy player drive in the lane from the top of the key and lead with his knees in to the defender's chest. Regardless of it being a charge that zone will be coughing up blood soon enough.

work high-low. hit the middle man between the elbows then hit the open man. if you have the ball more than 2-3 seconds, pass. and fast breaks! dont let them set up their D

Back cuts, attacking the zone with dribble penetration, smart ball movement, screens, and some decent shooting (at least) BOOM. 1.....

This

Your 1 or 2 can either drible penetrate the middle and kick or you can run high low.

The best way to attack the zone is get the ball to the middle, have your outside shooters ready to catch and shoot and have your wings/bigs running  the baseline.
If excuted right, you should have a open 3, a dish down low, or a mid rang jumper/floater.

Your team has to have constant movement, and good passes to beat the zone, or yall will have a lot of TO's and bad shots.

Work the short corners and high post. You can also try setting up in a stack and having the players go to open spots. Duke run this a lot ifs called distortion
