A lot of the songs from the White Album are love/hate.
Here are a few of my favorites from a VERY controversial album. Here's the Wiki article ... full of really interesting tidbits.

Crazy song that references a lot of their other songs and declares "the walrus was Paul"!!
Song that's clearly about heroin... definitely a "Lennon" song. Banned by the BBC:
Many people say that this is the first heavy metal song... also claimed to be part of Charles Manson's inspiration behind his mass murders:
And finally... just a really good jam.

Back in the USSR was definitely influenced by the Beach Boys, but there was definitely no "shots fired", Paul McCartney said the Beatles were just feeling what the Beach Boys had going on at the time and put their own twist on it.
