Just what I was wanting to know.
Appreciate it.

If Hedo was to get re-signed...
Who takes the # ?

Anyways, it'd be great to see him back with the Magic, they'd have the best starting lineup in the league.
I don't think it's as much about having cap room as it it their willingness to pay the luxury tax, with the economy the way it is, I don't think Hedo is going to command what he think he deserves, I think if it's somewhere in the 10-12 mil range Orlando will resign him and bite the bullet, cause seriously they'll make up that luxury tax with the extended playoff run they're sure to have...as a Laker fans I hope it doesn't happen cause they would by a good margin have the best starting 5 in the league: D12, Shard, Hedo, VC, Jameer

Thats what I was thinking (luxury cap and if the Magic are willing to pay it). I think that team is ready to win a title now and bringing Hedoback would be a very wise decision, regardless of how costly it'll be for the Magic. If not, a guy like Ron Artest would be a great fit at the SF-position.Bringing in Vince sort of make Hedo redundant as Vince can do a lot of the things that Hedo is good at (passing, shooting, 3 pt shooting, etc).

I think that Hedo will probably get the biggest contract of this off-season. My guess is 5 yrs/$70+ mill...I think that Hedo will go to the highest bidder asthis is his last shot at a huge NBA contract.

Too bad he couldn't pass to a brick wall.

The thing you said could've also been said for the previous season's Magic. And he couldn't even crack the 2 apg barrier. A great passing centerwould've been able to average close to 5 dimes per game on that team. Having one more extra shooter won't make much more of a difference.

Why do you people think Hedo is going anywhere?

Unless the Pistons overpay drastically no other team has the cap space and are willing to spend it.

A deep playoff run for a team like the Magic increases revenue by 30-45 Million.

That's more than enough to pay Hedo and Vince and the luxury tax.

Rafer Alston has sucked as a backup his whole career.

I like Lee alot. Dude is one of my favorite players in the league BUT he ain't Vince and probably won't ever be what Vince is now.

Battie is a role player at best./

What teams have the cap space to sign Hedo to more than 10 million a year. Look that up and get back to me.

most of the time it was his pass that led to the assist, which is a sign of how many good shooters are on that team

He's Dwight's best friend on the team, they're the same age.
We already made it to the finals w/o our all-star point guard...a healthy Jameer would've surely put us right back there, if not over the top...
With Vince making 16.4 mill a year for 2 more years, we almost certainly won't be able to re-sign Turk...... Read More
Our starting lineup would be Jameer, Pietrus, VC, Shard, Dwight...and who would our bench be? AJ & JJ would be our 6th men lmaooooo Ryan Anderson? Adonal Foyle? Jeremie Richardson? somebody shoot me
Also, just looking at VC, he hasnt been able to stay healthy since he was in Toronto...
I guess this is good if we are hoping to lose Dwight in 2012...good job Otis...

He's averaged 77 games since 2004 and thats the year he's left toronto.

Choosing Vince Carter over keeping Courtney Lee was a bad choice.

Now the Magic's starting lineup is primarily made of players who all look for their own shots first. If they're not careful, they'll be the Eastcoast Warriors.

Courtney Lee was a great role player who contrasted the explosive offensive weapons of Hedo, Rashard, and Dwight. VC is just another explosive weapon in a pileof existing ones.

This move doesn't help any of the Magic's problems that caused them to be bounced in the Finals. Just because they made the Finals doesn't meanthey automatically sit at the top of the conference. A healthy Celtics are still better.

With that said they will be fun to watch.

imagine Shaq, Penny, Grant Hill, Tmac, and Vince all in their prime on the magic at the same time!!

Getting more talent and becoming a better team aren't always the same thing.

Adding more shooters and offensive weapons to a team that was fueled by shooters and offensive weapons doesn't make the Magic more dangerous. Remember, that's what Phoenix tried to do.

VC is more talented than Lee, but I think Lee brought more to the Magic than VC will.

I read that it would be hard for the Magic to re-sign Hedo with all the money being taken up by VC, Dwight, Rashard, Jameer, and Pietrus, unless he'swilling to take a noticeable paycut. I think Hedo is gone.

Cosign

cosign. Not sure how great of a 'catch and shoot' guy VC is but C Lee was great at this. C Lee's repertoire seemed to mesh perfectlywith Hedo's and Rashard's, and at about a a tenth the cost of VC.

Imagine any team with their best all-time players all at once!

Lost in all of this...is the fact that Orlando gets another 6'10 shooter with Ryan Anderson

I do NOT understand how anyone can consider this as an L for Orlando.

Courtney Lee really got you dudes gassed.

If I wasn't on my iPhone right now I would really go in

Anyway I will also say this nonsense about Vince not having his athleticism anymore is a joke...word to his 2 head right below the rim windmills he did 2 weeksago at Big Tiggers celeb game.

And Ryan Anderson is lights OUT from 3 and in the Orlando system he will thrive. Trade was brilliant for both teams.

Nets get major cap relief and a future possible 2nd option type star in Lee who will be hitting his stride when 2010 comes to help reel in a top player alongwith Devin Harris.

Orlando gets a superstar who has been coasting as a result of playing on a bad team. A clutch, super athletic shooter who is can create their own shot anddoesn't rely only on the pick and roll. And a young player in Ryan Anderson who can rebound, shoot deadly and is tall at 6-10.

Orlando sets themselves up to win now. Nets later.

As much of a fan of Courtnee Lee I became this playoffs, he has an undeniable ceiling. He in his prime in a few years will never be as good as Vince is now at32. He is not a go to star

I like Lee but I don't understand why people are hyping him up the way they are.

I really didn't get to watch him play that much until the playoffs. The people hyping up probably watched a lot of Magic games throughout the season andhave seen something that I haven't seen yet.

But of course, I hope he turns out to be a great addition for us.

That's EXACTLY the reason everyone is gassed. I dare someone to show me proof that at SOME point throughout this season before the playoffs started...thatpeople held Lee in such high regard. Nobody was on the Lee train until the Cleveland series. People always remember the last thing you did when it comes tosports in most cases. People act like this dude was really THAT important to what they did last season.

Good thing it isn't because that's when he was hurt all the time...

I'll take the 2009 Carter that played 80 games and basically coasted and still put up 21 a game any day over the 02 Carter.

And for people that wanna act like Vince is buns...let me remind you of some of things he did this past season
