Finally getting into collecting records. Bought first one over the weekend and have a few coming in the mail.
Any recommendations for record players? Preferably something cheap for beginners.

Cheap ones can be ok for a dorm room type set up and cheap records. But spending a few extra bucks does help, even with entry level versions.

Depends on your budget but a good entry level turn-table is the Audiotechnica AT LP 60

Tbh I dont even know enough about record players to even base my budget off. But I was estimating around 120-150ish? If its possible to find a quality one under 150 that'll be great, but I guess I'll be willing to up the budget a bit if I have to.

mentioned, the Audiotechnica AT LP60 is a real good entry choice, or the newer AT LP60X ($139). It also has a pre-amp so you save even more money that way.

Getting a turn table with an internal preamp is definitely the way to go.

I would also make sure that the tone arm can be adjusted/balanced in order to prevent too much pressure from the weight of the needle on the records

Y’all gotta look on discogs for records you can’t find locally or online at retail music stores like fatbeats, stones throw etc. On discogs, you can buy and sell records, CDs and cassettes that’s are posted on the market. People also post the different variants of pressings as well. See below:
