i dunno about where you're from but over here, you can't just bring money and drop it off. the person has to put you an a list first and you need to be cleared. but yeah, go and visit him in person.

go visit him, sir. just knowing someone on the outside thinks about you (esp. fam) can help immeasurable ammounts.

Depends on yall relationship...
How close were/are yall? Obiviously not that close if you haven't seen/talked to him in 10 years and you weren't aware he was locked up.
Me personally I would write him first.
Write him and show him some pictures of the updated family.
Ask how he is doing. And things that he is doing while he is in there.. (work, school, bible study)
Get to know him again UNLESS yall are close where it's like yall haven't skipped a beat (which I doubt after 10 yrs)

I think he is doing a 13 year bid. Ive never been to a jail or visited so I dont want to waste his time but more give him help.

a visit would still do him some good and shame on his parents for keeping that a secret

Just contact him by sending a letter and be straight up and go from there. But do write him. They got nothing to do but into trouble.

My best friend is in the Feds and we email on Corrlinks every day. I wish you could send pics via corrlinks, but the regular email works out great. Sometimes we send messages back and forth like 5 times a day. I told him they might as well just let me send him a blackberry.
