I Will say I love what Motorola is about to do with the build your own phone thing, as long as it doesnt create an issue in the sense of certain devices getting updates before another because of processor or something, but I dont see how this will even be a good thing for them economically if they are gonna eat the cost.

Im more than satisfied with my Note 2 and i have an upgrade in July so i think im gonna wait for the Note 3.

If i see deal on an S4 then i might mess with it

So, who's all considering getting the S4?
I was until I read that the Note 2 and S3 are getting the same software updates. I'm leaning towards Note 2 but I could see why people would buy the S4, those specs are pretty nice and that screen is impressive.

Im considering. I wanted to stay with nexus (currently use galaxy nexus) but verizon didnt get the nexus 4. Ill just buy it outright and bypass that contract extension.

dudes must be clutz if their arguement is to hating non plastic devices is because it will break. LOL. If I`m paying over 100 for something It needs to feel premium. I notice every year every review states the Galaxy doesnt feel like a premium device. the One could be God like once a root comes out where you can install a vanilla rom.

So a product needs to "feel premium" even if it adds no functionality and possibly makes the product LESS durable?

That sounds like women logic.

In between the S3 and the S4, the Note II released with a giant screen and was really impressive. The S4 looks just like a smaller Note II. When you're releasing a phone less than a year later and tout it as "the next big thing" and then it turns out to be the equivalent of S3S (using the iPhone 4 to 4S jump as an analogy), people are going to be disappointed. Maybe they should have simply labeled it the S3S and saved the S4 model for something that actually is the "next big thing"

i think motorola operating with direct google oversight is only going to benefit us. a nexus phone with the design quality of the n4 but the build quality and battery life of the droid razr(they are built like tanks and current ones are water resistant) could be a game changer. i just hope they start putting out pure aosp. and no gimmicky features like what i saw on the s4 yesterday, that phone had mucho pointless stuff.

personally, android aside, if i were an apple investor id be wondering how can apple create something fresh and innovative to keep the iphone brand alive. the iphone 5 was a useless phone imo if u had a 4 or 4s.

I think some fail to realize that alot of people are on 2 yr contracts. So Samsung will be getting alot of people upgrading from 2 year old phones which will be a major upgrade for them.

There is no need to reinvent the wheel every year when you are king of the hill.

I'm confused like a weak chick :{ :x :rollin

I'm going back and forth between what my next phone will be. Earlier it was the HTC One, but now I think I'm going S4 OR at least hold out with my S3 until the Note 3 releases. But technically I aint supposed to be buying anything except Apple.

Never thought of it like that!!! Why do a major upgrade on the mid cycle of a 2 yr contract. The masses will not usually upgrade mid year. Samsung is going after the masses, not the tech crowd...JUST like Apple. The masses in millions means more to hundreds of thousands of the tech crowds as far as numbers.

Sorta like REAL nerds use Linux and Unix, but their market is far and few between. Hmm

I don't understand why one company one release a phone that has top-of-the line specs, a premium build (no plastic), expandable memory, AND A REMOVABLE BATTERY.

There's always that one feature that each company will lack. :{

LOL mane if Apple is paying I`d just cop a personal prepaid account on the side just for playing with gadgets. I won't lie I`m still young but I might look for a Business Analyst gig at a Apple or Google even though I hear Google for example only hires Stanford kids, but idc I`m just gonna apply for the heck of it.

i dont get why people say they aint gonna use this app, or we dont need it... at least a company is giving it to you.. 1)bigger screen 2)bigger battery 3)better camera 4)better processor.? is that not good?.. what do you guys complain about? i dont need a sunroof in my car?.. that is way too much food? "i cant believe that gave me a extra pair of laces?"..

People are obviously mad because it isn't made out of pure gold and it doesn't read your mind to respond to texts and emails without you touching the phone.

I dont drop my phone every 5 seconds, I want something that looks good. What functionality does anything other than screen size does hardware add? Functionality is software based. If I`m spending hundreds on something I want something that feels like its worth that much.

and why is the iphone 5 the standard? when the iphone 5 came out it couldnt beat the s3 or ANYTHING since then...why is it still the standard?
I think the ecosystem plays a HUGE roll and will forever. Developers simply build for iPhone first, make great looking apps and they pretty much work flawlessly. It also helps that the hardware your software is running on was made specificly for it and it flows effortlessly.

A underpowered and smaller battery iPhone 5 is just as fast if not faster than today top Android handsets and with no lag. Phones like the 1GB One X, 2BG S3 etc. of ram, still have hiccups and will buckle at times. As Android users, you know lag is going to happen no matter how much ram or butter Google puts into the OS.

It's like if you buy a Google made phone, you get the benefits of constant - first updates, but the features are limited or underpowered or you can buy a third party android phone with an abundance of features, options and power, but slow updates and a skin that taxes the OS.

word, its the fact that soooo many android devices drop and manufactures only make em to get a quick buck instead of caring about the user and ensuring every device gets updates for at least 2 years. Its dumb that I seen cats say its the users fault they are stuck on gingerbread, well not everyone is a techie, there are people who bought Droid Bionics who are prob just now upcoming their 2 year upgrade. Thing is Android is a Free OS, and Googles focus is having their products in everyones hands and they have succeeded so thats all they care about. The fact that avg iOS user uses as many Google based apps as an Android user says enough. I guess thats the reason you wont see a nexus drop like how commercial android devices do on all carriers at the same time.

I prefer HTC hardware design but their Sense UI is garbage plus they slow as hell with updates. If HTC releases a Note competitor I may give it a try but knowing HTC they will skimp on the battery.

Agreed. Sense is absolutely horrible.

Verizon and HTC's "flagship" phone about two years ago just got official ICS last month? Even though I think that's just on Verizon :lol

Couple that with piss poor battery life just all around faultiness .. I would've thrown it away had I not been on contract and for the great work of the dev community, albeit it's incredibly small.

I would love to support HTC, but after this experience, I don't know anymore ...

I had a total of 2 HTC phones (EVO Shift & Touch Pro 2) in 3 years. Went thru 6 different batteries between them, luckily those were removable and I'm far from a "heavy user".

I have very little faith in a non-removable HTC battery holding up for a 18 months+
