Angry Birds Lite Beta requires patience to run on HTC EVO
The much-anticipated Android version of Angry Birds (already long available on Maemo, iOS, and webOS) was released today in Android Market. It's actually just a "lite beta" version, which means it's not yet on par with the other platforms' releases, and of particular importance here at G&E, it doesn't exactly run without a hitch on the HTC EVO 4G.

Rovio, the makers of the game, are aware of the issues that the EVO (specifically) is having and has offered this fix to some customers via email: launch the game several times and restart your phone. Some users have reported flawless performance from the get-go, but most users are telling me that Angry Birds just won't fly. It force closed on me the first time and wouldn't get past the splash screen twice after that, but two reboots of the EVO and another attempt at opening the game ended up working for me.

I don't know what it is about the EVO in particular that causes the problems, but if you really want to get those birds in a slingshot and fly them into various structures to hurt those smug pigs, then don't give up! Be persistent and those pigs will get what's coming to them.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Evo owners, if Angry Birds is FC'n on you, when it's on the load screen, just keep tapping the screen till the game loads up, works for me. Game is the truth!

^ I just read that somewhere. Works fine now.

It's an okay game. Gets boring quick to me.

I'd love if some 3D beat em ups like that Spiderman game that just released for iPhone came out for Android. Gameloft is slacking.

I'm about to make my own Moleskin case for my Evo.

There's instances at work where I'm not really allowed to pull out my phone cause management is around. With the Moleskin and a Stylus pen, I'll be good. The moleskin iteself is like $7-10. All I gotta do is rip out the pages, Gorilla Super glue one of the cheapo cases I got off eBay, and maybe use some of the Quick Steel white epoxy I already have ($4-5 at Pep Boys) to make the fake pages trim. It shouldn't take longer than 20-25 minutes to put together.

I'm thinking of drilling out a hole on the back for the camera too.

These classic and vintage looking moleskin book cases are hand crafted from wood and black leather binding. The Little Black Book is specifically made for the iPhone 4 & iPhone 3G/S while the The Case, Vol. 1 is made for the iPad and features a clasp for closure. The iPad version also converts into a viewing stand. The cleaver red bookmark-like ribbons are made to help you take out your iPhone or iPad out of the case.

The Little Black Book for the iPhone 4 looks amazing with it's classic vintage looks and red bookmark-like ribbon. This version uses the more traditional rubber band strap to securely close both flaps together. These moleskins will run you $39.99 for the iPhone 4 version, and $54.99 for the iPad version. Hit up the source link to snag yours before they run out!

Got the ota a week ago on my first gen droid. damn thing is too slow now. I am waiting to upgrade to the incrediblewhen I find one, now hearing this makes me want to wait. The 2.2 for some reasons has alot of lag issues from my understanding.

Good to know. ATT offered me to buy a microcell in my home for $150 to improve service, LOL.
