What are the significant differences, not including the hotspot feature which I won't be paying extra for. And is one way better than the other or is it just a mater of personal opinion/preference?

I don't expect people to have both, but if evo people say evo they can say why, and epic people say epic they can say why. I was asking mostly about the specific features/functionality of them unique or otherwise in order to compare them, other then the overall ones that I can just compare on sprints description of the phones. I do plan to go into a store and test them out, but just wanted to hear peoples opinions of those that have used them. I did feel people could give a honest opinion also even if they bought the phone that they now think is inferior, this ain't a fanboy(apple) thread where no matter what the case, people will always say "myphone> ____".Originally Posted by pacmagic2002

Honestly its a dumb question......nobody in here has had both phones so that question cant really be answered.
Everybody that has the Evo, will say evo......everybody that has epic MIGHT say epic (i say might because not many people like touchwiz over sense)

It has a better CPU component so at the speed it will run better than the previous generation Snapdragon.Originally Posted by pacmagic2002

Also its running STOCK Froyo which essentially means no HTC Sense type roms to bog down the phone.. which not only improves performance of the CPU but also increases battery performance. Don't be mislead by #'s. 800mhz + stock Froyo + HSPDA = performance of a 1Ghz CPU if not higherOriginally Posted by Mastamind89
