isn't the 'hotspot access' wifi tethering?Originally Posted by NostrandAve68
Rooting can improve battery life or performance either by overclocking [speeding up your CPU] or by underclocking [ slowing down your cpu to conserve battery life]Originally Posted by TeamJordan79
pardon the ignorance but what exactly does "rooting" do? I just got android....should i do it?Originally Posted by humpasaurus rex
I just had my EVO rooted today. I'm justright now! I'm going to be charging ninjas for Hotspot access.
Ability to load Custom Roms
USB/Wifi Tethering although you can use PDAnet USB tethering without rooting.
Load certian root apps like TitaniumBackup [delete bloatware apps loaded by carrier] Shootme [screen shot app] & etc
Recovery Flash - backup & restore your phone, save apps on SD card
Rooting is much easier now since OneClick came about

Yes, I rooted my phone 2 days after i got it. Best decision so far, I tether for free now. I also have a different rom set. Only scare is bricking your phone but after completing the process i seriously think you have to be slow or mentally impaired. I guess they have a 1 click root now. Do the research and if you feel like rooting is in your best interest then definitely do it.Originally Posted by Tetsujin23
