what phone is this?

^evo maybe, who knows but i'm almost certain its running on 2.2 and most likely overclocked.

I've got a droid x now, but i had my droid 1 putting up 1,800+ on the benchmark.

It really gives no definitive gauge because in realtime, the cpu and gpu constraints put much more stress on the phone as opposed to a quick simulation.

Dual core will do what ? Do people real need their phones as fast as their computers? And I don't understand this front facing camera stuff...what can I do besides see you when I talk to you...?/

i don't understand the difference between a 1ghz snapdragon or hummingbird compared to a 1ghz dual core.  can someone explain that?

1st-Core dedicated to the OS
2nd-Core dedicated to your applications

You are right to certain extent but a dual-core will do well on a Android Tablet and think of the future as well Android is becoming a more mature OS where its going to fully polished to run intensive app and work on a fast network like t-mobile hspa+ some users will need it some don't. It what works for you. I'm just not sure if a mobile device like this will give good battery life cause you'll need a really strong battery capacity for a processor to consume as less power it can. I rather see hardware companies like Qualcomm, ARM, TX etc... to work on ultra-low voltage processors that frequency jumps up and down giving you power when you need it and lower it when you need excellent battery life. Battery technology hasn't been able to keep up with these processors and OS that uses a bunch of resources for it to run properly.

Dual core is simply that, (2) 1ghz processors handling data at the same time as opposed to the single we all use now.

I think phones are getting close to crossing that line of "doing too much," like companies are just trying to 1-up each others specs for the hell of it.

I can't think of any solid reasons to have it, even with emulation, psx4droid, it relies on gpu as much as cpu so having a fast processor still doesn't guarantee anything. Plus all of these 1ghz phones are already lightning fast.

As for the front-facing camera, the more i think about it, the less practical it seems. The average person knows nothing about skype, hell i really don't myself. If it ever does become a standard it won't be in the immediate future, and i'm sure when that day comes, i'll be long past the phone i'm using right now. To date, i've met one, yes one, person who had a successful facetime conversation.

ok yea, that's what i figured.  dual core is just dumb then unless they are going to double the size of the battery too.  i'd rather have an underclocked scorpion that runs cooler and gets way better battery life.

as for ffc.  i only talk to one person via webcam so i don't need this.

alchemist is right.  they need to worry about battery life now.  not speeding up the phones.

That's the next gripe from cell phone users, they want dual-core, they'll get it. They'll sacrafice battery life, and then if they get a stronger battery, they're sacraficing size since everybody wants slim phones.

Im thinking if I should get rid of my mt3g slide now, and wait for the HD version to come out... Is it worth it, how much can i get for it?
