You didn't address anything. You threw out Penny's numbers without looking at Clyde's
They were practically even, with Clyde having an advantage in rebounds & a very slight advantage in points & steals, and a result, a slightly higher PER.

i guess Penny was never that good then. I know what Drexler numbers are. Just didn't feel like I needed to post them. And Penny was a PG and Drexler was a SF. If your taking Clyde at 33 over Penny at 22 then that's your opinion. My opinion is that Penny was a better player than Clyde at that time.

Yall aint saying nothing but Drexler at age 32 in 95 was better than Penny ever was. Im just not gonna agree with that. Drexler had his best year in 1988 at 27ppg 7rpg 6apg. Following season averaging 27 ppg 8rpg 6apg. By 93-94 those numbers had tailed down to 22 ppg 5rpg 6apg. Still very good numbers but not Clyde Drexler's prime time. Dude never averaged less than 17 ppg for his whole career outside his rookie year. Was regarded as the Michael Jordan of the west. I'm a historian as well.

Are YALL sure you were there to watch Penny in his prime. I was. And I remember. Dude didn't have all those commercials and endorsements for nothing. Penny was a bad dude man. Especially that year he went to the finals. Penny's ceiling was through the roof before he got hurt.

Welp he made the All NBA 1st Team twice in his career. First time in 94-95, 2nd and final time in 95-96. Put up same numbers statistically. Didn't reach the finals still had Shaq and Nick.

Penny's numbers are not that impressive. We never got to really see prime Penny due to the injuries. He peaked by 97 due to injuries.

That's not the issue here. We're talking Clyde Drexler at age 32 vs Penny at age 22. Penny was all NBA 1st team that year. Clyde was all NBA 3rd team.

Man on paper it looked like the young Orlando team was better but their TWO best players were barely even in the league up to that point.
Like MANY have mentioned, Penny was ONLY in his SECOND year and they were going up against THE defending champs! Penny may have been the better individual player but Houston showed why a veteran team usually outlasts an inexperienced team. After that Game 1 historic choke job by Nick Anderson, the young Orlando team didn't know how to recover from that. I think MANY of you forget that Houston team was THE current NBA champion going into that series so no matter how "stacked" that young Orlando team was, they was NOT ready to face the experienced defending champs.
