Stanford changed their name back in the 80's
St. John's changed their name in the 90's
Miami University changed their name.
It's still amazing how this was allowed for so long with barely any backlash.
Hate the team, the colors and everything about them.

It is because other than the Standing Rock pipeline Native voices have mostly been forgotten. It is really cool to see other races helping to push the cause forward but my hope is it doesn't stop at just a name change. There is so much more that needs to be done for Native peoples.

Age old cliche but that does not make it true. Most people simply aren't willing to pimp out their culture and the image of their people for a buck. It's naive to think Native Americans would be different.
That's why Delk Denard and Diamond and Silk etc get so much heat for their **** behavior.
