No. Afflalo has a $7.75 million player option for next season. I'm not convinced that he adds that much value over a moderately paid substitute.Trade Targets: Will Ernie Grunfeld make a move for Arron Afflalo?
Also, with Brad Beal....he's had a "meh" year, but I have to keep reminding myself that he's ONLY 21 and still the youngest guy on the roster (even with a year of college under his belt). If he can learn to create off the dribble, he's going to really take his game to the next level. Going forward, I think he should be at worst, a 20ppg scorer next season. I thought this would be the year for him to break out, but it just hasn't happened yet. I'm not down on him because I think he has a ridiculous upside. By 25, there is no reason to think that he won't be in the top-3 at the 2-guard spot by then.
Just acquired Ramon sessions for Andre Miller
Thoughts?
Would've rather kept Glen Rice, Jr.Would've rather had Jack.
While we'll be sad to see The Professor go, this was a necessary move for the Wizards. Without adequate spacing Miller, just doesn't have the athleticism to make the bench offense work. Though Sessions may not provide the same court vision or hoops IQ as Miller, he can force defenses to adjust to his driving ability. Given the bench's struggles, it would be hard for Sessions to make things much worse than they already were.
You can get better players to fill a roster spot that's now guaranteed (barring waiver) to Sessions.Nothing is compromised for '16 (yet)
