I've always thought that pre-soaking the jeans shrinks them down to your size, that's why you should always buy them a little bigger and then shrinkthem. Also, washing them helps them stop bleeding onto your shoes.

But what do I know, I own Sugarcane 1966 and they already come pre-washed.

1. what are the ways to prevent them from fading too fast?

2. how long do people pre-soak them for?
2a. so really, what does the pre-soak do to the jeans?

yeah its a Met 5 Heat shell...came out a few years ago, retail was like $600 i think...
probably the best purchase i made this year...jacket heats up mainly around the chest and runs down both sleeves.
