During #SDCC2017, IGN caught up with director Joe Russo to discuss Infinity War, and the director was kind enough to reveal the backstory behind #Thanos's new militaristic look. Get ready people, because the Mad Titan went spiritual:

"[Thanos] has a more casual approach in this film, and it's very philosophical for him. It's part of his character definition. It's a spiritual journey for him to collect the Stones, and one with which he doesn't need armor. Once he starts acquiring the Stones, he doesn't need armor in the same way he did when he was a war lord. It's a very symbolic costume."

I honeslty just started buying blurays because of 4K and because Homecoming and GotG2 were on sale

Well there's 22 weeks between now and May 4th, 2018 and 17 films not including Black Panther. So every 2 weeks might not be feasible to be all caught up by Infinity Wars.
