I'm in Daygo and in the Facebook groups you can get Blantons for 100.

I have traded bottles to grab baltons, but it's super overrated. I get them for later trade bait.

It is super overrated. I was using it to make the point about the secondary market and the parallels to the sneaker game. Its just crazy right now the prices that Im seeing out there.

A part of me wants to panic buy Buffalo Trace bottles cause they’re looking to be the next Eagle Rare (and already are in some states / areas) and another part of me doesn’t want to contribute to the problem.

Man I can’t even panic buy much anymore. Wife gets mad at me for having too many bottles around, but also gets mad when I crush a 750ml bottle in a weekend.

Having to stick mostly to beer, wine, and ****** *** seltzers until she falls asleep. Then can enjoy a glass or two of bourbon. Having to buy what I can find on the shelves every few weeks so I don’t have extra bottles on the bar cart or in the pantry.

Don't. Trace is trash.

I get why people buy up Eagle Rare...it's actually a great sipper.

BT > Eagle Rare imo. Blinds don’t lie. Only way to identify your true preference. Load up on store picks.

I've wanted a bottle of Buffalo Trace but can't find anything in person. Had an old fashioned with it and it was outstanding
I love BT, granted I use it for my bourbon and cokes but damn it’s literally delicious and it’s one of the few drinks I can drink all night if I wanted to.

Also, does anyone know shipping laws? It’s still readily available to me where I’m at for about $20 give or take

Your not supposed to ship liquor unless you have a license. But a lot of people ship BBQ sauce or vegetable oil....

Rare Eagle all the way, although now it's hard to find under $60. My Costco had it for $29 and heard from the FB group that 1 guy cleaned it out at 10am.

Personally not a fan of Buffalo Trace's heavy butterscotch flavor. I keep it in stock and pour to my friend's that aren't into bourbon.
Also not a fan of Blanton, great bottle design tho. I don't like the spiciness/ mint flavor of Rye, tried Midwinter NIght's Dream. To each their own.

Y’all are trippin! A good bottle of Blanton’s is delicious. Sometimes you get a meh bottle due to single barrel, but that happens with all SiB (EHT, McKenna, etc.).

Tried Blanton’s last night for the first time...I need a bottle or two ASAP.

Not saying Blatons isn't good....but it's overrated. There are much better pours that are attainable.

If Blantons sat on the shelf I don't think it would get the hype it gets.

That’s how I feel about Weller. I’ve had several OWA, 12’s, SR’s, Full Proofs, and even a couple WLW. They never do anything for me and always lose in blind tastings. Finally realized I just don’t really like them.

People ******* drool over that **** though, even the Special Reserve. Give me some Maker’s 46 Cask Strength all day if I’m looking for a wheater.

On another note, dry January going strong. Probably open a GTS ‘20 when February rolls around.

Wish more stuff was allocated to nyc. Besides Astor downtown, don’t have any luck finding anything good in the wild.

Preferably uptown if anyone has any local spots.

I prefer high rye content whiskey so, for the sake of this discussion, Blanton's works just fine (Old Forester 1897 is my favorite whiskey though). Weller and Pappy are all wheated mash bills, which I find to be pretty boring.

Full disclosure: I work for a distributor that carries Sazerac. It is not fun having to deal with divvying up Weller, Pappy, Antique Collection, etc. Also, releases are getting smaller and smaller each year, which makes it even more of a headache.

The whiskey game is wild as hell… Prav searching out a 27yr WFE bottled X/24 and opening offer at $40k but also circling back to a guy that countered with $80k… M25 Ryes going to Rick Kueber at $22.5K… Fun to watch, painful to try and secure bottles

Tbh I got a bottle of Blanton’s to have around and try once at least, and really hoped I’d find it overrated and not want another bottle. I got one more and I’m content now but I thoroughly enjoy it when I do drink it.
