I like how boots look with my slim or tapered pants. I used to wear non-slim pants and the leg opening looked sloppy with boots.

Not necessarily uniqlo although they have some but slub cotton and marled socks are good. You can find them for cheap from uniqlo, old navy, gap, banana republic etc
The real answer is wool socks but I can’t stand how they feel

Man I hate you because those white ones are so beautiful I had to cop a pair for myself as wellFinally got time to take pix of these boots.. the burgundy LF1 finally got its brother..they age well I’ve had the burgundy joints for Atleast 4 years..ignore the white rug… got them for my bathroom.. just took em out the package .. took a pic with my bright *** Timbs for reference .. 2 yrs and still got em on ice

My go-to are the Costco merino wool socks. Plenty of stretch and much cheaper than a lot of the merino socks around. I've let my Costco membership lapse, but stocked up again this winter and I'm set for a while.
