The NBA contract isn't up until 2016, and you know ESPN is going to fight to the death for that.

It's a 24/7 sports network like ESPN.

For the time being programing will be driven by the NHL and Major League Soccer plus Tour de France and the Olympics in the summer. There will be lots of talk shows to fill the void left by a lack of live programing.

From what I've read NBC fully intends to compete with ESPN long term and for that they'll need big time programing so when the NBA contract expires expect NBC to go all out for it.

I'm jazzed that the NHL is going to get a lot of shine. Anyone see the documentary they showed after the Winter Classic; Cold War On Ice?

Nah FOX actually outbid both NBC and ESPN for the English language rights through 2022 but NBC did secure the Spanish language rights. A combined 1.2 billion in FIFA's pocket.

they are gonna get rid of alot of the hunting and stupid crap they used to show. it will be mainly about regular sports and yes they will try and land NBA rights in 2016.

would be awesome to hear this

How does the contract work? Because you got National TV games between ABC, ESPN, and TNT.

2016 is ALL of their contracts are up?

ABC/ESPN is the same contract. Both deals are up at the end of the 2015/16 season.

If they could get a deal where they get a weekly game or doubleheader similar to TNT then that would be pretty nice. Saturday afternoons like the old days

ESPN/ABC could keep the majority of regular season and playoff games.
