Every once in a while I'll get got by it and have sentence deleted or whatever and of course its annoying.Hell I remember when I was a kid and I had like aparagraph erased because I didn't know what was going on.

But what in the bloody hell was Bill Gates thinking when he had this feature put into his product.

Yeah this thing pisses me off

I'm computer literate and it took me awhile just to figure out what was going on

I feel bad for computer noobs

I was gonna make a post about this, but I did not even know what the term for this was.
How do you prevent this, I've been having trouble with this forever

Instead of deleting the line (by pressing Delete or backspace) you can just save time (?) and type over what you had.

But I agree, it blows.

i hate it as well, i sometimes press it accidently and then there goes my sentence, i mean what's so hard about highlighting the part you dont want andthen pressing delete or backspace?!!!

Ugh... Deleting is so slow.

seriously, Insert is the worst.

now that i know what's up, any time i see MS word deleting my stuff i know i accidentally pressed Insert.

but back before i knew what it was, i was writing a paper one time, went in the middle to correct something, and it started deleting my work. i was like"oh *%$@" and pressed spacebar, hoping to clear some space, and the spacebar started deleting letters too.

i could NOT figure it out for the life of me... i was seriously about to call Microsoft, or break my computer. i ended up just going through all the functionkeys and all the Fs, etc till i figured it out.

Ugh... Deleting is so slow.

just use the mouse, highlight want you want to get rid of, and hit delete

I hate this! I never knew what it was called until now. Thank you for giving the enemy a name.

I was going to say then why the hell does it pop up automatically but then I scrolled down and read about the insert button. Why the hell is theinsert button right next to the delete and ust slightly above the backspace button so if you are typing quickly or have fat fingers you accidentally hit it. AsI typed that I just realized I hit the insert button. Insert sucks.

I didn't know this happened to other people. I used to always think I was the only person too stupid to figure out what it was.
