Whats wrong with ESPN?

Molly Qerim is appreciated though

ESPN is a the CNN of sports (tho CNN is WAY WAY worse to watch)

i expect nothing more nothing less. they are box office, broadcasting college, NBA, NFL and MLB games. other stuff too.

i like PTI. around the horn is aright too.

30 for 30s are the cream of the crop.

First take is meh. Undisputed is better imo...brother Shannon :hat spittin that real real.

ESPN and the NFL are in bed together making sweet sweet love. ESPN has the nerve to make a list of players protesting for a given NFL week. like an injury report, and that only proves the point further of how too much focus is put on the protesters and not what they are protesting.

ESPN failed with Erin Andrews.

i use ESPN for sports games and that is pretty much it. i take it for what it is.

Oh and a middle finger for ESPN for firing bill Simmons over his opinion, whether you feel him or not.

And most importantly telling Bomani to cover up his Caucasian shirt. A medium of journalism doesn't censor its journalist and be reputable. Simple.

Jalen and Jacoby was my favorite show for a long time, even back when it used to be only a podcast. Nowadays it is a shell of itself, Jalen Rose needs to step off his high horse

I
"ESPN trash, I only use it for live sports, these 5 shows and documentaries"

Do y'all hear yourselves?

:lol I don't get it either.

And no one has mentioned another network that's better?

Like what do ya'll want?

Sounds like dudes just hate sports related shows.

I think they just want some variety other than opinion shows of people talking about the same topics. I just stop watching those shows besides Highly Questionable and sportsnation. pti has gotten bad and I can't stand that idiot wilbon.

Their original content is non existent. If it's not a live sports event, I'm not watching.

I grew up watching:

Dan Patrick

Stuart Scott

Kenny Mayne

Those personalities were brand anchors, that ESPN just hasn't been able to duplicate. Dan Patrick is now the best in Radio, and they just haven't found a way to utilize Mayne since his return, and their current roster is bland to say the least.

Let's not forget Keith Olbermann and of course, Stuart Scott. With the exception of Max Kellerman, whom I don't listen to ever since he left radio, their on-air and radio personalities are straight up ignorant turds with mouths.

Bomani is cool, but he's a needle in the haystack over there. That doofus Mark Schlereth is the radio equivalent of watching paint dry. Jalen Rose was doing a caricature of himself the last time I listened.

Yep and yep.

I do wish they would have another mma show. The one they had before was ok but would air at all different times. The shows on fs1 are good but they all work for the ufc and basically kiss the company's butt.

I studied media but i dont really get how this works. If i cut the cord on cable then i cut the cord on all channels i had in my package. My question is do people solely susbscribe to espn and there channels. For me, my basic cable company package includes it, its not like i have to ask for it specifically.

ESPN is trash anyway, so it was bound to happen. Sans pti, lebatard, bomani and max kellerman, the channel is terrible.

The economics is what makes it significant. Yes, all cable channels suffer, because cable is bundled. However, you pay WAY more for ESPN than any other network, and it's not even close. You pay $7.21 per month for ESPN (the Deuce is another 90 cents). Now, compare that to CNN ($0.71) and Fox News ($1.41). With the insane money ESPN is throwing out for broadcast rights, losing 600,000+ subscribers at $7.21/pop is a big loss.

The cable tv model is archaic.

I can only imagine it getting worse

Just charge a few dollars a month for an online login I bet they get all those ppl back

Only good thing they have besides live sports is 30 for 30. That OJ piece was masterfully done

Disney owning ESPN is the problem. No pundits and analysts can really speak their mind. They are caged and filtered. It's just not entertaining and exciting because everything is predictable that comes out of these reporters mouths. ESPN only saving grace is their new flagship show, "First Take".
