It varies between which field you really want to specialize. I've only taken one computer science class so far (uni encourages people to take their generals first and then go into their field,) and it was just javascript. We would make super basic webpages from the ground up using HTML and CSS (and it'd be stuff like making boxes out of divs and what not) and then we'd add functionality to it with javascript. For example, we had a program that would change the color of different boxes randomly on a webpage, we made a tic tac toe game out of loops using javascript, stuff like that.

It wasn't incredibly hard material, but the professor never taught us anything. He'd tell us the functionality of a command in javascript and then tell us to implement it in a different way. For the most part, the class was just a problem-solving course using HTML, CSS, and JS.
