Where my Angel fans at???? Official Offseason Thread: Pujols/CJ Wilson agree to Halos

I'd absolutely say that.

And it would make me appreciate 2002 even MORE. If we won the championship, my loyalty to the Angels would make it sweet, but my sports philosophies would make it better.

And if we bought our way to 28 more titles, I would hate the Yankees no more.

You're missing the point.  COMPLETELY.  When the Angels signed Vlad, you could make a serious case for him being the best player in MLB.  This Pujols signing mirrors that.  The Angels have gone "all in" before and it yielded no rings.  I'll remain skeptical of this signing (and their others) because they've been down this road before with no success.

Vlad's career with the Angels included facing those good Redsox teams (WS 2004,2007) in the playoffs.

They completely OWNED the Angels back then.
We got rid of the Redsox Playoff curse back in 2009 though

I mean, Vladdy did help us get back to the ALCS, and we did win the division like 5, 6 years in a row, something like that. That's not completely unsuccessful.

Obviously, that's not the return we wanted on that investment, but 'no success'? I can't agree with that; too 'black-and-white' for me.

"no success" may have been a bit harsh....but when you spend like the Yankees, anything less than a WS win is a disappointment.  That's all I meant by it.

Shouldn't we keep Torii in RF though? His arm > Trout/Wells.

Not to say he should play but you get rid of Abreu that is an awfully right handed lineup.  Phillies were a classic opposite example of that.  Plowed through the season and NL playoffs but had no right handed bats besides Werth and Damaso Marte shut them down.  Point is not matter how good the hitters are, this stacked right handed could be pitched to in a short series.  Keep him around to get on base like he does and limit his play in the field.

You can't compare vlad and pujols.
Pujols is a hall of famer already.
Vlad was very good, a CANON in the outfield, but the stats help put things in perspective.
Props to the halos.
