Just like I said in the Black/Red OG 85 1 thread. Jordan Brand announced, a few months ago, that they were scaling/cutting back, on the production of pairs being made, starting sometime in 2025. Meaning that, even GR’s were going to be less, in comparison to the older GR’s we were getting in 2024 and before. Basically, a GR that was 400,000 or 500,000 + pairs made. Might be half of that going forward. This release might be around 200,000 to 300,000 pairs made, and that’s just me guessing off of the article, that was written up, about how Nike was cutting back the production, of how many pairs, they were going to be making for future retros.
I also wouldn’t be surprised, if certain releases will be lesser than the numbers I just wrote. They don’t want the brand to get watered down, plus they want to drive up the demand and hype back for Jordan retros. It’s not all about money either, because they’ll make their money, like they always have been in the past. Exclusivity, will definitely bring back the hype and demand for retros, because if it’s only 100,000 to 300,000 pairs of White/Cement 4’s, and other GR OG Retros.
There won’t be a lot of pairs to go around, which is smart on their behalf, because that’ll spark back up the demand from us. But at the same time, it’ll give us a chance at getting them, it just won’t be in abundance, of everybody buying 2 to 4 pairs to stock up on.
Because you’ll have way more people, trying their hardest just to get a pair, while appreciating the shoe way more. Because they’ll understand that it’s not 500,000 + pairs floating around, like what older retro releases use to have.
