Who do you cheer for in sports?

For me it's always home team(Canes, Dolhpins, Heat). Then comes which ever NFL team has the most UM players (except the Jets, Patriots, Cowboys)



Tonight I'm rooting for Cotto because he's the underdog but he really has a good shot of upsetting Mayweather(fan of his work ethic and skills tho.).

Location Location Location (49ers sometimes W's but dont watch a lot of  bball)
Except with my baseball team
 
Die hard LA Lakers fan, casual UCLA Bruins basketball fan and follower of the Memphis Grizzlies.
 
Charismatic people - Noah,Money May, Garnett
Athletes who don't flop, As a result of that I always root against the clippers (CP3 & Griffin).
Team players who enjoy passing the ball. (Anybody but Kobe)
Awkward players - Javale Mcgee & Noah
Fav player - Rondo
Saints

I rather see a close game than a certain team win. Whoever is down is who i root for.
 
Local teams.

I occasionally continue cheering for players even after they relocate.

Berto for the same reasons as you, Lakers, Tampa Bay Bucs, Phillies, U of Miami football, UNC basketball and most recently the Brooklyn Nets. Don't have a hockey team but I bang with Ovechkin
 
Home teams (Texans, Rockets, Seahawks) and favorite players.

Sometimes though, players I can't stand can ruin me rooting for teams who have players I'm a fan of. Take the Mavs
for example. They're in my homestate, and I've always been a fan of Shawn Marion, Dirk, and Jason Kidd, but my hate for
Jason Terry won't let me cheer for them.
 
Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Indians, Boston Bruins, Real Madrid CF, Arizona Wildcats basketball, and the Ohio State football.
 
Seattle Seahawks, Mariners. Udub Hoops and Football

Casual fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Red Sox
 
Cowboys(pops from TX)..........Lakers & Angels(home teams)


casual follower of southern Cal(NCAA FB) & north Carolina(NCAA BB)
 
Die-hard Raiders, Lakers fan...casual A's and now, Angles fan.

EDIT: Can't forget about Cal (my pops went there). I like to see them do well.

But in the case of Cotto vs Mayweather tonight, I'll be rooting for Mayweather in hopes that there'll still be a chance for a May vs Pac fight.
 
The teams i grew to like as a little kid and kept. No local ties. My favorite players played these teams growing up.

Ir's actually the opposite for me. I think if FM loses he can't hide behind that "I'm undefeated so I get over 50% of the purse etc".
