Was just reading through this thread and literally loled at "the hood demographic" being way larger then the "white female demo". Hahahahhahahah whoever said that knows absolutely nothing about marketing and sells and just the general population of America and consumerism. Furthermore this argument is incredibly silly ASAP is probably four times more popular in general than French Montana globally. When talking popularity also consider "mass appeal" and endorsement deals. Asap Rocky is actually a very articulate and intelligent guy in interviews and marketing strategies. He is positioning himself to be more then just a rapper by appealing to that high end fashion "be yourself" crowd. His message will ring louder and longer then French Montanas because its a message that will resonate with every walk of life and sex and or sexual preference. If you guys are going to discuss two commercial acts at least understand the dynamics of commercialism. Sex appeal will also play heavily into asaps success because he is playing the "pretty boy card".

A$AP played Coachella, Rock The Bells, Pitchfork, 30+ city tour, and this year is opening for Rihanna & playing Bonnaroo. the streets might choose French, but that's it. like i said, this isn't even close popularity wise.

"STAYS" selling out shows...OK. this is his first tour, so how can he have been selling out shows before? the LA show still has tix left, and i'm sure more of them do as well. don't go by StubHub, where people are trying to make money on the secondary market. the venue Rocky played in LA was twice as big as the one French is playing. Rocky played HOB in Cleveland, which is 3 times bigger than the Grog Shop, where French is playing. i'm sure I could keep going, but I really don't feel like looking up all these small venues French is hitting.
