Why does NT hate Jean shorts/Jorts ????

We wear pants when its hot...I noticed northerners always seemed to be bother by that. Or wearing jackets with shorts.

i tried on an only pair of my jean shorts a few days ago and they looked HORRIBLE. i couldnt believe i actually wore those things

I can understand something new being "in"
but why does that mean something old has to be "out"?
that's what I don't get
nobody stopped wearing jeans because people cop Wranglers from Walmart, so why stop wearing jean shorts because some people wear tacky ones?
cant just wear something subtly better?
