There will be an NBA 2K12
The last lockout, NBA live 98 I believe, they just used the roster from the previous season from what I read.

It was NBA Live '99. The game had the rosters from NBA Live '98.

well... i traded in my NBA 2k11 a month ago. Guess there's no choice.

Although I could never get an online game going after some update, I wish I would never have traded it now.

Depends on how good it is and how far it is from being NBA 2k11.2. If they include challenges for all those legends like they did for Jordan in 11, then probably yes. But they might use up all the legends, then I might not get 13.

Last I checked Bird and Magic are already in the game....
