Wiping an iPhone?

My pops bought an iphone from his worker for 20 bucks because he dropped it at work today and the screen cracked, but he left a password on it.
Any idea on how to reset it?

Also before anyone  accuses me of lying or that I found and don't wanna do the right thing. 

The hell I look like stealing? I got a job and money so I don't have to steal or not return things.

My pops just really wants an iPhone, he's never had a smartphone before

That'll be the logical thing to do, but he wants me to unlock it for him today.
I'm pretty sure I won't, and he'll just get the code tomorrow.

pretty sure the screen change won't be much more and it'll be simple to fix
