Work. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

Once you find out what your passion is and what career goal you've set out to accomplish. Your life will be renewed. You will start enjoying it once again, my friend.

not to be that guy..but I work 60 plus hours a week between two jobs and I love it

I love fitness. I actually studied and got my personal training cert in January. I spent a few months training a few people and working out hard, it made me happy. Felt good to help people while doing something I enjoy.

But the problem is I was broke, so a job opportunity came up and I had no choice but to take it. It's a warehouse job. And with the new schedule I wasn't able to work with those people anymore, barely even have the time/energy to workout myself anymore.

I don't feel like I have a choice because student loans are hanging over my shoulder and rent in Santa Barbara is not cheap.

Basically I feel like I had to sacrifice the happiness I got from the fitness life to make a decent wage.

Had to choose money over passion, and I think it's the root of my unfulfilling weeks.

I obviously want to go back to it again, but bills have to be paid.

Working the warehouse job is like an entire 8 hour workout. Problem is, I have nothing left in the tank for fitness after work.

you are in control of your own happiness..

students can be out in defer or $0 monthly payments if you have low income or no job. you knew the job would cause unhappiness but you choose it. you choose to give your self this

not putting you down but always remember you are in control of your happiness

I'm an aspiring rapper. Got the typical 9-5 after graduating college. I do my boring, robotic job every day then when 5 o clock hits I'm in the studio all night. I do shows 1-2 a week and spent countless hours networking and promoting. It's what keeps me going. Things have been going well for my music and I'm just waiting for the day I can quit. If I didn't have this dream, I don't know how I would cope with 9-5 life. This isn't how humans were designed or meant to live.

whats your job

A fulfilling job will make those 5/7 days worth living

I work the 40-50hr/wk office type job but it's rewarding, no one day is te same, so I like it a lot and the work week flies by.

OP you need a job that's more than just going through the motions. Also try to minimize the commute, hrs in traffic are destructive to an active and productive lifestyle

Well here is the problem.  Working at those places is like going to prison everyday imo.

You like working out, so get a job at a gym with high traffic.  Then start freelancing as a personal trainer that makes house calls for some extra cash.

Your in SoCal.  A place where it's nothing for fitness buffs and personal trainers to thrive financially.

Your welcome
SoCal is probably the most oversaturated place with personal trainers..

Smh Mon - fri that's my routine. I just started this 2:30-11:00 shift n it's horrible bruh. I'm used to getting off at 4 30 and having my whole day. By the time I wake up and feed my kid, browse the Web for a few minutes it'd time to go back. But I love $$ so

That could be said about any aspiring accomplishment anywhere.  You get what you want not based on availability.  You get there based off drive, determination, networking, and ability(doesn't always apply).

good thread OP

im in the same boat - this will be my 4th year out of college and it seems like i only live for the weekends/vacations with my FT job

For me its:

School

Work

Eat

Study

Sleep

Repeat.

 How old are you OP?

make friends at work

go to happy hour

go to trivia night or wing night with your boys once a week

drink A LOT more than you are currently

don't be scared to show up in the same outfit on thurs that you wore wed. Trust me, you're not important enough yet for anyone to care or notice

find new after work hobbies besides working out.  Again, I'd suggest drinking or anything you can include drinking with

joint an adult co-ed social sports league

have a date night one weeknight every week with your gf

volunteer to feed old drunks at a soup kitchen once a month (this will keep your own drinking in check)

read more books

take cooking lessons

learn about wine with your lady, drink what you study, get frisky, stain the carpet with reds and refrigerate whites

get a new hobby

volunteer at an animal shelter

get a part time job

I'm not sure why this is an issue unless you let it be one.  Do wtf you want when you want.  Live life, b/c like you said, it's too short.

Work, Eat, sleep, Repeat.
Sometimes gym before work.

It seems like that's every weekday, every week, every year since I graduated college.

I have a job, a wonderful girlfriend, a roof over my head and a warm plate of food on the table everyday so trust me I am extremely grateful and know how blessed I am to be alive. I thank God every morning for allowing me to once again wake up to life.

But why do weeks not feel fulfilling anymore?
I have a blue collar job so by the time I get home my body literally crashes. All I can do is eat, watch a little sports/browse NT then sleep.

Next day, repeat.

Weekends are obviously a little more enjoyable with the freedom to roam, take little trips, and enjoy yourself but they end so quickly they're so quickly forgotten.

My question to you fellow 9-5 workers, how do you guys enjoy your weekdays if your working such a tiring schedule?

Life's too short to ONLY enjoy the weekends.

How do we make work days more fulfilling?
5 out of every 7 days of our life can't just be robotic work routines for the rest of our lives, can it?
Man wasn't meant to be confined to such a mind numbing routine.

Withdraw all the money from all your bank accounts, sell your home, pick a direction and go.
