As part of WWE’s First Quarter 2012 earnings report announced on Thrusday, the company released pay-per-view buyrate information for this year’s Royal Rumble and Elimination chamber events.

The Royal Rumble drew 443,000 buys, down from 446,000 buys in 2011, and 462,000 buys in 2010.

Elimination Chamber did 178,000 buys, down from 199,000 buys in 2011 and 285,000 buys in 2010.

Even though the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber both did fewer buys in 2012 than they did in 2011, revenue was essentially the same due to more viewers ordering the high-definition feeds of the events, which are more expensive and made up the lost revenue.


As for WrestleMania 28′s buyrate, the official numbers will not be reported until WWE announces its Second Quarter 2012 results in a few months, but WWE CEO Vince McMahon did say that the buyrate is expected to be “nearly 1.3 million pay-per-view buys globally,

- WWE star Husky Harris is being advertised for Friday’s RAW live event in Huntsville, Alabama in a match against Alex Riley. Husky recently debuted a new gimmick, that you can see here on WNZ, in FCW and may be bringing that to WWE’s main roster.



- Regarding Anarquia’s release, he had gotten a reputation backstage for not being a good worker and some had categorized him as not safe to work with.


- The next movie in the Riddick series, featuring former WWE star Batista, is scheduled for a January 2013 release, according to star Vin Diesel.



- F4Wonline.com reports that there were higher-ups in WWE concerned with the amount of blood that John Cena bled out at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on Sunday. They weren’t worried about Lesnar’s image as much.

How any wrestling fan with the tiniest shred of knowledge about wrestling history can consider the finish to Brock vs Cena as being anywhere near the top 5 worst finishes in history is incomprehensible.

I didn't get in to the whole Taker/Sting debate, but I would love to see that match at Wrestlemania in the future, and so would anyone else that's in their early 20's. 
They are the two most mysterious characters of our generation, and there isn't a doubt in my mind that these two would put on a solid match.
