lol funny i was just thinking about hogan and john cena and the superheros comparison hogan caught a break back then cuz noo one really seen anything like it before him he was the immortal one lol it was at the right moment.yup. great feud. I mean I am very happy the rock was born. Bc at the end of the day Simmons would of never ever under any circumstance ever been able to replace the rock if given the opportunity.
speaking of hogan, and I know this was talked about before on nt , but people are sick of super cena now, hogan never lost ever. and when he did it was never ever clean. except for warrior at mania 6. even in tag matches the other guy would get pinned. I couldn't imagine the iwc back then. poor cena isn't even close to almighty hulk.
personal demons cut him short, although he had a run in ecw(dont think he won titles there tho),but he couldve definitely been a great heel champion hell even a face turn as champ would have been for cool for the snake.I forgot about Jake The Snake Roberts..
Agreed he was good to watch then, how he made the entire crowd cuss "you think you beating john cena, yous a stupid M***********!"
cena needs to be a heel rapper again, but wwe so scared to turn him heel smh.they should tho it can be like when hogan went bad,not as big but similiar
Yup, Cena is horrible in the ring, but I gotta give him props for all of the wishes he's granted. He's almost like the Derek Jeter of the WWE except Jeter performs well both on-and-off the fieldCena as a human being=Cena as a wrestler=
im glad rude had a quick run in wcw he deserved it.
but honestly imo wwe was above the rest so when i think of champs i tent to look at wwe champs first
not to take anything away from other prestigious titles from other companies.its just my biased
i guess cuz the e is the only one still standing(dont watch tna)
god we need another promotion to compete with the e so we can get some wars back
although wwe has been better recently
Mr.Perfect
Owen Hart
Rick Rude
Ted DiBiase
Piper
Andre(even though he technically won the WWF title)
looking back I don't see how or when the opportunity would of been right for rude to win the belt. I loved him and his arrogance but I don't think he was ever on that level at the time he was in wwe
yea your most likely right.hopefully they can keep wrestling interesting for a long time, but like i said its been pretty good latelynot that it can't happen but I don't think we will ever see another promotion on wwe level or even close enough to scare them into getting better.
in every business competition makes for better business. and there's a reason why wrestling was what it was in the late 90s. but I seriously don't ever see it happening.
and I don't count henning winning the awa title as a championship run. they were a regional promotion for the most
part and were basically years from bankruptcy when he was champ.
I think Hulkamania could of been even bigger or lasted a bit longer with Hogan chasing the title instead of having such lengthly runs. They could of had Heenan and his hired goons outsmart Hulk for the title even if for a short time. (my pick would of been Rude, Huku, Studd, or Bundy)
I meant to say wrestlers who never won the WWF title..
I didn't know that rude won the heavyweight title at WCW..
yea your most likely right.hopefully they can keep wrestling interesting for a long time, but like i said its been pretty good lately
yea mr perfect deserved better than that being his only world title,i mean his name was mr perfect and he was damn near.
true it was booked as a strong belt kind of like the ic belt in wwf. combined against sting if I'm not mistaken.Rude didn't win the WCW world title..The Big Gold at one point was called the International World Title, but wasn't really thought of as the true world title..It had something to do with WCW leaving the NWA and that cause WCW to have 2 "world" belts..But the Inter. Title was kinda thought of as what the US, or TV belt, were in WCW's later years..More of a secondary title..
yea mr perfect deserved better than that being his only world title,i mean his name was mr perfect and he was damn near.
amen to thisI agree on both parts. but yes wrestling has been very good lately for the most part. if they can keep all of our attention with the current roster and all of their characters develop we are headed into a good period with guys like cesaro, brian, shield, Wyatt, big e, and hopefully the nxt guys all live up to the hype. the cena era is coming to an end if it hasn't ended already. and I think brighter days are ahead for the E
i feel u and i def dont want to discredit a title held by some legends.I understand, and agree with, your point about Perfect not getting a WWF World title run..But don't be so quick to discredit the AWA World title..It was a pretty prestigious title that was held by some of the greats..
Gagne
Bockwinkel
Lawler
Hennig
Martel
Mad Dog Vachon..
These are some legendary men that held the World belt that has a 25 to 30 yr. lineage..
true it was booked as a strong belt kind of like the ic belt in wwf. combined against sting if I'm not mistaken.
Rude was supposed to face Vader, but couldn't cause he got hurt pretty bad..Sting beat Vader to win the Inter. belt, but lost to Flair in a unification bout..So Ric Flair was the one who merged them..That's when WCW quit using their ugly *** world title belt and switched to the Big Gold as their world belt..
And to add to the Ron Simmons discussion, I wish he would have got more singles shine in WWE..I remember watching his match vs. Vader for the world title when it aired on TBS..I was so geeked cause I was a fan of his from when he was in Doom with Butch Reed..Very under rated tag team IMHO.
i think i remember that in wcw actually, yea its starting to come back to me lol i gota watch more old wcw on the network.Rude was supposed to face Vader, but couldn't cause he got hurt pretty bad..Sting beat Vader to win the Inter. belt, but lost to Flair in a unification bout..So Ric Flair was the one who merged them..That's when WCW quit using their ugly *** world title belt and switched to the Big Gold as their world belt..

amen to this
those pics of r truth are dope lol
so rude never won a heavyweight title?didnt know all that about the belts and what not or maybe i forgot n its a foggy memory
and man if they actually let heels win back then that era could of been a lot more classic than what it is.
