What's the plan for the World Heavyweight Title? Del Rio stuck in limbo with this Big E/Zig Zag feud starting

WWE.com reported that Randy Orton suffered a cervical strain and cervical neuorpraxia  in his match against Alberto Del Rio taped for Smackdown earlier tonight in Providence.

If anyone ever wanted to become a top heel in the wrestling thread they could fill out the survey under someone else's name and bomb on purpose.
I started to do that the FIRST time I did one of those surveys. I won't lie Craig

If that Orton injury is something that could linger, looks like he might get that Ken Anderson treatment in regards to his MITB case

Got 23rd in the contest...definitely better than my predictions for Payback...Is it possible that there could be a Del Rio/Ziggler/Big E triple threat for the title at SS?

D’Lo Brown is the latest person to be released from TNA. He was under an agent’s contract though made several appearance as a wrestler on TV and in other roles.

I think it was also posted in this thread, but Andrew Hankinson aka Doc aka Luke Gallows had his contract expire and not renewed by TNA.

Despite WWE.com claiming Randy Orton suffered a cervical neuropraxia at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings, the Viper took to Twitter to dispute the injury, possibly believing the news came from "the dirtsheets"...

“Remember when I said don’t listen to the net? I’m fine. Del Rio’s kicks are hard as hell, and I caught one to the neck, part of the job.”

- As of Monday’s RAW, names were still being thrown around for who will challenge World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio at SummerSlam. One name mentioned was Rob Van Dam

Vince McMahon is a big fan of RVD, and always has been. Both Van Dam and Chris Jericho were praised backstage after their match on RAW.

- There has been at least some backstage heat on Roman Reigns for something that happened with Randy Orton at a WWE live event a few weeks ago. Apparently Reigns confronted Orton backstage over a blown spot in one of their matches. This rubbed Orton the wrong way. Seth Rollins was reportedly involved also, telling Reigns it wasn’t a good idea to confront Orton in the first place. Orton may have been in the wrong but he still has a lot of influence backstage.

At the same time, Reigns and Rollins were praised for their Money in the Bank pre-show match against The Usos. For those wondering the reason for the pullback in The Shield’s push, it has do with the fact there is “nowhere to go from the top.”

- WWE officials have been working on ideas for Leo Kruger and Kassius Ohno to make their way to the main roster.

- We noted before that Triple H has been supporting The Wyatt Family as they prepared for their main roster debut. The week before they arrived, it was Triple H who insisted that RAW close out with a vignette for the trio. Triple H reportedly want to make them a “big deal” from the get go.

- When news leaked last week of WWE’s plans to do an angle where John Cena let the WWE fans pick Daniel Bryan as his SummerSlam opponent, WWE officials went ahead and did the angle on this week’s RAW. It was originally planned to happen a few weeks from now, closer to when Total Divas aired. The feeling at RAW was that they wanted to put the official SummerSlam main event out there as early as possible.

- The decision to have Randy Orton win Money in the Bank goes back two or three weeks. WWE officials felt they should do it because nobody would see an Orton win coming. One of the reasons Orton has lost a lot lately is because they felt they needed to “bring him down to build him back up.”

- The current plan within WWE is to announce the WrestleMania locations for 2015 and 2016 at the beginning of 2014. Decisions will be made this August and the decision won’t be announced until early 2014 going into WrestleMania XXX season.

WrestleMania will indeed be returning to Orlando, Florida but likely not for a few years. Cities being considered for 2015 and 2016 include Dallas/Arlington, New Orleans, Chicago, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay area and Los Angeles.

- Chris Jericho finished up with WWE, for now, at last night’s SmackDown tapings. He tweeted:

“So long to @WWE for now…2013 was one of my favorite in ring yrs ever! Thx for always sticking w Y2J & see u on the road soon w @FOZZYROCK!”

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Where Alex Rodriguez goes, drama follows.

And in Reading, Pa., a motley crew of five security guys aren’t far behind.

The group tasked with protecting A-Rod during Double-A Trenton’s trip to Reading included three local high school staffers (athletic director, principal and teacher), a Harley-Davidson dealership owner and, oh, a 6-foot-8 former WWE wrestler, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

“Our detail is strictly A-Rod,” the aforementioned wrestler, Gene Snitsky, told the Star-Ledger. “Wherever he goes, we go.”

Snitsky said the reception for A-Rod wasn’t “quite as bad” as he expected.

“On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d say maybe a 7.5. … I expected it to be a lot worse,” he said.

It’s a good thing.

“Hopefully for the fans’ sake, they stay in the stands,” Snitsky told Pennlive.com on Monday. “Because if they don’t, there could be a problem. Not for me, but for them. So my advice would be: stay in the stands, ’cause if not, you might get hurt.”

It’s a good thing Snitsky wasn’t at the All-Star Game.

A-Rod, who could face a suspension for his alleged part in baseball’s latest performance-enhancing drugs scandal, has been rehabbing from offseason hip surgery and is scheduled to join Triple-A Scranton Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

I wish they would give Jericho another decent run with the title, I understand he's pretty much done it all but I would love to see a heel run from him with a good build against someone. Ah well, one of the best ever.

They'd be foolish not to give RVD the title from Del Rio. Fans love that he's back, might as well eat up that up.

Following that, a Ziggler/Del Rio feud could be cool. After his program with Big E, have Ziggler complain that RVD's older and washed up, how he's been back for a month and already had/has a title shot, doesn't deserve it, etc.
