Was it really? I was primarily a WCW stan back during the MNW.
Did Russo contribute that much? All I hear is mostly negative things about him.
The best thing about Russo back then was he kept a lot of people involved and noticed. A lot of midcarders were doing featured things. Even if it wasn't actually in the ring, they would have a noticeable amount of promos, backstage segments, or simply be ringside and doing commentary. Had read way back that he was a big fan of Kane, X-Pac, Val Venis, Mark Henry, and D'Lo Brown, which is why all of them had some sort of shine during the time he was there. Russo's departure, plus the introduction of The Radicalz is why all of them (minus Kane and X-Pac) were shuffled down the card. D'Lo & Chaz teaming with Tiger Ali Singh :x :x :x
