Wrestling Thread Oct 20 - Nov 2 | 10/27 Raw - Rollins Defeats Ambrose in HiaC w/ Help of Bray Wyatt

Sound like a broken record but bringing back the classic Intercontinental Championship is the best thing Cody Rhodes has ever done in his career :smokin

I love what H is doin with talent. He truly does have the best interest of the company. I feel vince is too stubborn to have that anymore. Can't wait till H fully takes over the WWE. I think it is then we will see them move ina completely new direction.

They need to do more with the tag teams. Bring The Ascension to the main roster. Have them feud with the Usos as Bray as their mouthpiece.

Dont care for a Big Show/Mizzark feud.

@casekicks, a minor setback at KOTR, but you will see why we are the Present, and the FUTURE of NTWT. Your downward spiral begins with 22stylez 22stylez as we continue our dominance. We ARE STRONG STYLEZ!

Who is this MidWest Connection? My in ring debut will not dissapoint. After we dominate these country bumpkins and relegate them to Jake the Milkman Milliman and Tom Rocky Stone status, Stong Stylez will continue towards our path of success. You may or may not like us, but you WILL recognize Strong Stylez!

According to @EricFisherSBJ on Twitter, the WWE Network had a gross subscriber add of 286,000 during the last quarter to end up with a net add of 31,000, bringing to the total to 731,000 subscribers to date. As a result, WWE Network has removed six-month commitment requirement. Now 9.99 per month, cancel anytime.

Yikes :x

Best thing they could do was remove the commitment. Now you'll have more people buying each month depending on how the PPV card looks. Should give them incentive to put out quality PPVs every month now.

i got an email that the network isnt a 6 month commitment anymore

Saw an email but had yet to open it. Just when I was having buyer's remorse about getting it Sunday, hahaha.

I really hope they add some old stuff, I sound like a broken tape recorder.

LIstened to the Young Bucks interview with Colt. Pretty good so far, will def have to listen the "good brothers" on MLW VIP.

Thought Lucha Underground was ok last night. If I heard right, it sounded like Chris Hero, who was on in the beginning of the Colt podcast, mentioned they had done some matches for Jarrett's Global promotion. Let's see if he makes it into a modern day NWA.

Very interesting read on del rios post firing.

-From the Observer:
Alberto Rodriguez has signed to do a Kayfabe Commentaries DVD, which is notable because of the nature of his firing. There had been talk he was going to do major media, which he didn’t do, regarding his firing which lends me to believe there were negotiations with WWE to keep things quiet. This probably also explains him working in Mexico and in Japan this coming week when he’s got a worldwide non-compete for one year. It’s also notable that he hasn’t yet worked the U.S., and a lot of indie groups wanted him, as well as him and Ricardo Rodriguez together. That tells me a lot is still in the negotiation phase regarding how his situation turns out. He did an interview with Fighting Spirit Magazine that will be out this week. Among the things he said was when wrestling in WWE they only want you to do their style and they have you in a box and you can’t think outside the box. He said he doesn’t blame WWE, because it works for them, but now he’s going to mix American, European, Japanese and Mexican styles in his matches going forward. He said his father would have a big retirement event sometime in the first six months of 2015 that will have he, Mil Mascaras, his brother Guillermo Rodriguez (El Hijo de Dos Caras), stars from Japan and that Rey Mysterio wants to be there.
He said there were constant racist jokes in WWE when he was there and he never liked them, but he never said anything because usually they were said by important people. He said they would joke not just about Latins but also African-Americans. He said if a nobody (like Cody Barbierri) said something, he’d say something but if important people said them, he wouldn’t say anything. He said at first he was told he was going to be suspended after the incident with Barbierri, but then, when they realized there was a lawsuit out when Big Show slapped someone doing a vignette, they were afraid Barbierri would sue and there would be two lawsuits of talent slapping non-talent. They told him, “We need to let you go until things cool down.” They gave him the impression they’d bring him back in a few months. He said he told them that if he wasn’t hired back by the time he hung up the phone, he wasn’t coming back and noted he’s already made up his mind he was leaving the company when his contract expired anyway. He said that the person who called him, who he didn’t name, to let him go, was a high up person who always made racial jokes and said because he does it everyone else thinks it’s okay to do it and claimed he told him that. He noted he was going to leave because the money was down and he was only home 38-40 hours each week to see his family. Rodriguez claimed that Myzteziz is getting $5,000 per match in Mexico (that sounds high, although he and Perro Aguayo Jr. were making money only the biggest names in WWE were making during the boom period many years ago) and doing two or three matches per week.
He said the new hot guys in the company these days in WWE are making $500 per match. He said one wrestler told him (the hint would be one of the Usos, because he made it clear the guy had a brother, but it could by Wyatt) that he did a match on Superstars, a long match on Raw, a promo on Raw and then a dark match at the end of the show and got $500 for it. He talked about wrestlers getting $2,000 for a four-show tour of Mexico. He noted that the young guys are not unhappy about it, but not completely happy either, but have no choice. He noted guys like he and Mysterio weren’t happy and they had somewhere else to go to make money. He said he once complained to HHH about doing a tour and getting his check, and this was when he was champion, and claimed he used to make more money for a week of small town shows for CMLL. He said that was two years ago, but because he would stand up and fight over money, he was always paid well in the end, but he said he would complain to the head of talent relations (HHH or John Laurinaitis) every week. He said they would always fix his check when he complained. He claimed he got $10,000 per week in Japan as Dos Caras Jr. (that sounds way high to me because he was never a major headliner in Japan although will be now). He said Blue Demon Jr. and El Hijo del Santo, when he was in WWE talking with them about money, said he could make the same money in Mexico doing an easier scheduled and make his own rules. He said most guys in Mexico don’t make big money, but Myzteziz does, he will and Mysterio will and he said when Mysterio comes to Mexico that business will pick up. He said AAA offered him far more than CMLL could have which is why he went there. He said he got the AAA offer, went to Paco Alonso (CMLL president) who he called his good friend, and Alonso said he couldn’t match the offer because they didn’t have a good television deal yet. He said that Drew Galloway was his really good friend, the best man at his wedding, and he was working on bringing him to Mexico in 2015.

I had already watched HH 94 before they announced they would review it.

I don't watch as much wrestling as I want to man. I usually don't watch what they review. I just listen and watch anything interesting.

Side Story:

I was at the Penn State vs Ohio State game this past weekend and some dudes were being drunk pricks and were trying to fight. Long story short, I hit them with the Orton/Okada pose with my arms out and head facing the sky closing my eyes and said "hit me". Man I have no idea what possessed me to do that

Every time I get in a drunk scuffle I always put my arms out like Orton
