Can u play the xbox1 console without hooking the kinnect to it? I'm kinda old school, and not into the whole camera / microphone deal. I'd prefer to never hook it up if that's possible...

I think so. I didn't have mine connected on initial boot and it didn't cry about it.

you don't need a switcher if you're cable box has 2 hd outputs (usually 1 component and 1 hdmi)

use the component straight to the tv for regular tv without the xbox

and use the hdmi to the xbox, then xbox to the tv

If I do it this way will I get sound from the component cables? I thought component cables were video only.

This thing is a VCR its true haha butttt its muchhhh quieter which i didnt even realized bothered me before but its nice. Dlna plus what the connect can do > ps4.

Its settled. My nephew gunna get my hand me down ps4. For retail of course hah

Yeah joint looks like a vcr.. Its very quiet. The power supply outside the box is louder.. Then again that's probably why since it's outside.

I honestly don't see how XBO > PS4 is even an argument.. The only place PS4 has XBO beat hands down is the design of the system. Having the options to stream TV through your system, use the system completely hands free (smoothly at that) with the Kinect, and multi-task between games and apps, take it over the top for me.. The graphic argument isn't even valid because it's not like the XBO can't run games at 1080. There isn't anything the PS4 can do that XBO can't..

Can the PS4 stream music/movies from your PC like the 360 did last gen? That's the feature I'm most annoyed about M$ removing. Stupidest decision ever.

Xb 1 can stream, anything that will play in windows media player can be streamed to x1

Red and white are audio cables. Audio would be in stereo for that set up tho.
You could run the optical out from the cable box to the tv for surround sound tho.

yea, won't lie I copped a Day One just to resale if It doesn't sell I`m gonna keep. I was thinking price was the diff but everyone I know who had a Xbox 360 is for the Xbox One and I know way more xbox users since PS3 rubbed Online gamers the wrong way or something.

Might as well keep it dude you won't make much of a profit or anything for that matter.

That's what it looks like I don't game like that at all too lol but the xbox does seem like the better over all "entertainment" system so this is a better fit than the ps4 would have been since I'm not a hardcore gamer lol idk migt return it might keep it who knows. While 500 bucks def isn't chump change it won't kill me and is money that I would have blown on something else down the road that I didn't need

UPDATE: an online troubleshoot on Xbox Support website told me if the install is stuck at 0% to disconnect from XBOX Live, turn the xbox off and back on,  and then install it while disconnected from Live. and it is now working!

also the other good news, no klaaakkakkkttakkaktkkekkfka noise when i put the disc in

I came in to complain about the same thing. Hang in there I'm at 90% now. Took about 45 minutes. So wack. 2k server better not be down like Madden was last night after 45 minutes waiting to install

My friend was installing 2k and Accidentally stop at 30%.. He had wifi then..Now he doesn't.. Is there any way to continue installing the game without Xbox live?

yes re-read what i wrote, Microsoft recommends that you install the game while Disconnected from internet
