I only played Mafia 2 so I can talk about that a little.
It's sort of like GTA since it's a sandbox game, but it's story driven. It's set in post WWII (1940s/50s.)
If you liked the look of LA Noire, you'll love this. The environment is amazing. They have like real music from the era, voice acting is great.The story was fantastic too. It pulls a lot of classic mob/mafia films and things like that.
I remember they had a speed limit

I'm always surprised to see folks talk about M2. I tested that game for a loooooooooong time, so it makes me proud to see how much folks like it. I still actually have the limited one still wrapped up on my shelf. I don't know if I'll ever play it casually.
EDIT: Finally watched the trailer. That old car sitting in the swamp in the beginning was from M2.

Def hope gears comes correct NOT like that halo remastered crap that dropped. The hit detection in the beta was sad at best.
