Very true, but there are more people that game (whether hardcore or casual) on consoles than PC, as PC gaming is a niche market IMO when comparing the two. Console manufacturers aren't going to be able to move as many units coming out with revisions every other year or so, especially to the average consumer. To be somewhat successful, they would have to leave off certain OS features for older hardware (i.e. Apple) or make the UI slower with each major OS update (i.e. Apple again), in order to "force" people to upgrade. Not saying the industry would die, I just think there would be a noticeable dip in sales. It's going to be interesting to see what happens though.

microsoft's already replied to the lack of 1st party AAAs since scalebound, phantom dust, fable got canceled. This "lack" of exclusives only exists since those games aren't on the horizon anymore.

Microsoft stated that "like the ui experience, backwards compat, features, etc improving over time, expect the same with first party studios", since they've increased their budget for first party. Given that, there's nothing else to add. Expect, shade.
