Channel 7 on the beat.
I always tell folks about this joint
plus the unreleased remix (7 ended up giving the beat to Lloyd though)
but what do you mean with that "
" after saying 'Channel 7on the beat'?? I can't tell if you're hatin or giving props, right after saying it was Ashanti's best joint...
A video for "Don't Leave Me Alone" was shot in Mexico with Hype Williams who was hyped (no pun intended)to continue his vision with the energy that Ashanti and 7 Aurelius were giving him off the first single
but things went awry cuz Irv Gotti and 7 got into another disagreement/feud [ironic cuz they JUST made up after their first feud over production credits &"face time in the spotlight" in which 7 came back to the Inc to produce this particular Ashanti album)
so Irv switched single plans with what I consider a shady move:
a song interestingly titled "Don't Let Them" which was NOT produced by 7 but still used the trademark'aura wave' sound that 7 was known for
I don't mean to be crowding this thread with too much info for folks who don't want it but somebody above asked for knowledge so...
After this whole ordeal [the Ashanti single flopped hard btw so SMH at Irv Gotti]
7 linked up with Dame Dash, who had just got hsitted on by Jay, to create The Dream Factory label at Universal with Nicole Wray as their first artist[what's the term for this again? slips my mind]
but for some reason these plans didn't go down and everything was dropped
7 and Irv later became friends again, 7 did some work on Ja's MIRROR album [did this ever come out? I honestly don't know], Vanessa Carlton tough7's work is nowhere to be found on it, Lloyd's STREET LOVE, and Ashanti's latest album that flopped [but the "Hey Baby/After the Club" International House Mix
] along with plans for 7's own solo album.
Once again, Irv lied to and used 7....didn't even let homey get air-time on his VH1 show
... no solo album
so 7 jump-shipped, found his way to Bad Boy [yall saw Making the Band]
He's still making moves with Diddy but plans might've been hurt with the major flop of Donnie's album,
it was such a poor choice for 7 to give his work to such a crappy artist, waste of good production....
should've asked Diddy to get him placement on Beyonce and Justin albums to get his name out there.
7 solo album still on the way... the few joints that have *unintentionally* leaked have been pretty hot. YOUNG EASY WHAT UP!!
He could hit it big with "Rolling Stone" as a single [and the "PlayboyMansion Remix" of it too
