I've had it before...and I agree, it's good but not the second coming as everyone thinks it is.
Although, if I lived in Wisconsin and it was as cheap as Miller, Coors and PBR products (as it is I think) I'd be drinking it all the time too.
Got a big, heavy box at work today from one of my best friends who lives in Chicago.
Opened it and found this inside...
And if you can get the new Boulevard Hibiscus Gose it's pretty incredible too.
Yeah, those Bruery sours can get pricey fast. I only get them on tap when the price is more manageable. Haha.
If you haven't had Tart Of Darkness yet, it's worth the cash. Mindblowing stuff right there.
If any of you live in Boulevard's distro footprint, stop reading this and go find yourselves some Two Jokers Imperial Wit aka The Best Witbier Ever Made Ever.
It's been about 3 years since it was last made, and it just reappeared last week.
It's tart, citrus-y, spicy, refreshing and just plain...
Download the newest episode of Beer Sessions Radio from iTunes. Coincidentally, they had a guy on who owned a beer bar there and was mentioning several spots to check out.
I was driving while I listened, so I didn't write anything down/remember any specifically.
Avery's brewery is across town from my office...and they kill it to be honest. I think their year-round offerings are great, especially White Rascal and Joe's American Pilsner. But their limited barrel-aged and big bottles like Maharaja are great too.
But where they really, really shine is...
I picked up a six pack of it last night here in Denver to take to Red Rocks for the Frank Turner/John Butler Trio show. Damn, that Freestyle Pilsner is really good.
Also grabbed a 4-pack of Backcountry Brewery's Berliner Weisse too. It was great stuff.
I'm a HUGE sour nerd/fan. And not all are the same. Some are more tart, some are more sour, some have some sweetness, etc.
And not all wild beers, farmhouse-style ales and saisons are sour. Many have a funky flavor profile from the wild yeast, some have a spiciness to them, etc.
I've had some...
Stopped in at Crooked Stave for the first time in a few weeks earlier tonight.
The missus and I had the Surusion (a blend of their Surette and a golden sour), Spring St. Bretta (with minneola tangelos this season) and the Happy Leaf St. Bretta (collab with Happy Leaf Kombucha), which is St...
@Based Mod: Yeah, you definitely should...the beer scene here is unreal. Absolutely unreal.
@tee eye ehm: I'm definitely planning on getting some Younger. There should be a minimum of at least 2 places near me that will have it, so I'm stoked.
Are you in, around or near Denver and Boulder during the month of February? You're in luck! It's Stout Month! Check out this BONKERS tap list...

Our favorite month of the year has finally arrived! Ladies and
Gentlemen, drum roll please, welcome...
Had the day off, so I headed over to Big Choice Brewing in nearby Broomfield, Co. to grab a pint of their Hawaiian Christmas firkin...their Type III IPA with Lilikoi juice. And instead of playing Christmas tunes, they were playing trad & 2Tone ska.
Now I'm home and drinking a Dogfish Festina...
I don't normally post pickups but I'm just too stoked on these not to share.
The Jason Jessee X Santa Cruz Converse CTS Low...the details on these are sick (clear sole with the Santa Cruz logo, memory foam tongue, the Neptune deck art on the insole, mermaid tag inside the tongue, etc.), and...
Wally..with their Smoked Porter, I know that Alaskan always hold back previous year's bottlings specifically to release the next year or two down the line for verticals.
