You probably misheard. Pliny the Younger is only released once a year. Elder is year-round.

My local bar is hosting a DIPA fest on the 8th and they will have Younger. I am definitely going to finally try this beer. Anyone else have plans of getting a taste upon release?

Beer Fest Feb 28th and March 1st. Can't wait. Getting the more expensive Connoisseur package as opposed to the VIP, and regular package. Comes with rights to taste "exclusive and super rare" beer in a private testing area. Hopefully they have some good stuff to try, the struggle is real out here when it comes to being able to get my hands on some beers that are only available to the west coast.

I've been slacking on beer reviews again. Here's what I've tried this month:
Told myself I'd start giving more German beers a shot so I figured I'd start with one that most consider to be world-class. Pours a golden straw color with an insane amount of carbonation. The bubbles are tiny, but there's an insane amount on the initial pour that can cause you to develop a gigantic head on the beer if you pour it too aggressively. Aroma in this is bananas, cloves, bubblegum, and sweet malts. Taste matches the smell, but it's a very crisp, clean tasting beer. The flavors aren't in your face and everything is balanced nicely on this beer. Nice light mouthfeel with no detectable booziness. I generally don't like hefeweizens, but this one definitely passes the test. Reasonably priced, to boot. Will be purchasing again. 9.3/10
This next one I'm not gonna bother giving a full review on. It's like a double/imperial version of the Hefe Weissbier. Same flavors, just a little more pronounced, and a little heavier bodied with a detectable booziness once it warms a bit. I'd say they're equally worthy. 9.3/10
This one is another beer I've been sleeping on. I've passed up this beer so many times for Breakfast Stout instead, so I felt I owed it its day in court. Pours like motor oil with one of the darkest heads I've ever seen. The picture doesn't do it much justice since I took it after it settled, but it's insane. Aroma on this is straight roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. Taste is somehow more intense than it smells, with a slight (almost negligible) amount of dark fruit flavors in the background. Mouthfeel is extra viscous. At the end of the day I'd take Breakfast Stout over this 4 times out of 5, but this is definitely one of the better Imperial Russian Stouts out there. Another beer I'll be seeing more of in the future. 9.5/10
Picked this one up on Saturday after reading some of the hype about it. Pours a deep, golden straw color with a somewhat soapy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma on this is slightly citrus, with hints of pineapple and mango. Strong smell of honey malt on this one. Taste isn't as hop-forward as I expected. Slight citrus on this with a pretty strong honey sweetness coming from the malts. For a 9% beer, this is pretty light and balanced. I'd say I like DirtWolf better than this, but this one is still worthy of purchasing again. 9.2/10
Lastly, this beer was just released last week. Figuring that I enjoy Resin and tend to overlook a lot of Six Point beers, I figured I'd give it a go. For an IPA, this one pours a deep amber color with an effervescent head that dissipates at a moderate pace. Big tropical fruits on the aroma of this one. Taste is even more fruits. Lots of mango and peach on this one. I can't tell if it's the malts on this one, but something seems a little "off" about the aftertaste to me. Even with this perceived "offness," this beer is still really tasty and extremely drinkable for an 11% beer. It's boozy, but it's hidden pretty well. Another one I wouldn't mind getting my hands on again. 9.3/10

had this a while back ago, wasn't feeling it but then again I went a while without drinking any good beer. had more of a earthy/wheat taste, no hint of vanilla really, kinda on the sour/strong side. hopefully my liquor has some left.

Total Wine is going hard with bottle buster sales and these $1 off coupons for the superbowl. They are killin' it. Beer budget busted for February and it's still hours away lol.
As long as you check bottled/best by dates on certain styles, it's a place I've been down on in the past. But I guess I'm stuck in my budgeted ways
I have learned that buying bottled products is so much cheaper than a draft trip at a brewery/restaurant. So there's some consolation in the fact that I'm getting way more for less.

I'm sticking with mostly New Mexico beers. I spotted some somewhat fresh ten fidy which should compliment the IPAs and hefes. No bud light for my parties.
