Yo i literally laughed out loud my g
The owners were only able to step in because the league owns the Hornets. If ORL like LAL's offer in a trade (which now can include Odom and Pau) there is NOTHING the rest of these crybaby owners can do about it.Originally Posted by WhatsLosinLike

That's true but CP3 has all the power because he won't sign the extension if it's not the Laker or Knicks.Originally Posted by gangsta207therevolution

You cant say its about competitive balance. Its about the fact that the team would be undervalued by any potiental owners. They are going to try and sell and let that guy make the Paul decision. Thats if they can get the guy in there before March.

I honestly agree with the owners' position here. Let someone buy the team first before making such big moves. This deal makes the team far less attractive, prolonging the NBA's holding and hurting the league. No league wants to have to own one of its teams.

And if it would've happened to us instead of the Lakers, the whole world would've dunked nuts on us.

- every team over the luxury cap (70 million) pays a dollar for dollar tax on everything past that cap. So if the Lakers had a 91 million dollar payroll, they'd have to pay an additional 20 million in luxury tax charges, bringing their payroll cost to 111 million.
Instead, they drop their payroll by 10 million on the backs of the New Orleans/NBA franchise. So not only are the owners taking on an additional 15 million in payroll, they're losing an additional 10 million dollars that would have been redistributed in revenue sharing.
