With that said, knowing that Eric Gordon will most likely not re-sign, how is this a good trade for the Hornets? They get a high draft pick next season, but that's about it..It's not like there has never been a lottery pick that ended up being nothing more than a role player..If that Minnesota pick ends up being an 9th-10th pick or so, then what? You might draft a 15/10 type guy but with Kaman and Aminu as 2 of your main pieces, that makes your team horrible for at least 2-3 years..Clippers won

EJ can't go anywhere since he'll be a restricted FA.  The worst thing he can do is sign a lucrative, long term offer sheet from another team since NOH would definitely match.

He'll probably just sign a qualifying offer to become an unrestricted FA in the following offseason. Then, the (only?) hope for NOH is that they'll strike gold on the Minny pick & their own pick & those 2 guys show enough that it convinces EJ to stay.

Will the Clippers re-sign Craig Smith? They literally have no one backing up Griffin and Jordan. They do need a quality 3rd big and not just no anybody.

Honestly, no matter how upset players are this NEVER happens with good players. Eric Gordon isn't going to turn down a max offer from the Hornets and risk becoming an unrestricted FA and hurting himself or something. It's a bad squad but I bet he stays unless they trade him.

They have Thompkins (rookie) and Brian Cook backing up the big men spots right now. 

Maybe they'll look at Murphy or Pryzbilla for the vet minimum.

eh the clippers overpaid. as a laker fan it sucks they didn't land chris paul but stern was playing kiddie games so i can't blame them for passing on what they wanted.

all i ask from the lakers now is to just make well thought out smart moves. if they land dwight in the end great, but make smart moves and don't depend on a big home run trade. oh and jim buss getting kidnapped would help as well.
