thanks, gotta do my #NT duties, and this is one of my favorite threads along with da jewelry thread in general...always a ton of info spread in both..same with da polo thread

and jacket thread.

cypher sounds a rap geek/nerd....people like that are invaluable to keeping record of historical events...his show "juan epstein" with Rosenberg is a example of

neo-backpack insider material.

plus he DJed at da tunnel.....im still type salty i wasn't old enuff to ever make it in there

True..
but Tyga and Sean brought that style back. imo.
#1-Rappers rarely start trends. They help make them more popular. The trends start in the street.

#2-I doubt 2 rappers 90% of people haven't heard of and couldn't pick out of a Police lineup "brought that style back".
I mean Tyga is way more known than you know. .
and yeah I agree with you and Gordonson.

I'm just saying those are the 3 rappers who have been heavy on it recently.. well Chris isnt a rapper.... technically.
My man, you don't know what I know. Especially when it comes to music.

Tyga is on the come up, but hardly a top of mind artist as far as the general public is concerned.

Cool Kids, Retro Kids etc. set this off way before the guys you mentioned as ninjahood touched upon.

And as Gordonson touched upon, this started in the streets. So if the streets influence the rappers, then the rappers can't influence the streets.

They influence the masses. But they rarely START the trends persay.

No beef man. I think we kind of agree and kind of don't in some ways. All good. Just an alternative perspective.
Its all respect.
Opinions is opinions.

Most NTs think if yours isnt theres, then your dumb etc etc.

So its respect man.

and I get what your saying, but Tyga and CB are more mainstream than them, so their influence to me is stronger.

But I get what you mean.

I'm sure they didnt start it, but they made it more popular.
