It seems to be a trend though coupe...what are we missing?
What are his weaknesses?
I sincerely think the main issue is that these big clubs don’t want want to pay Sporting that money because it it sets a precedent. Portuguese clubs don’t usually get full market value. Portuguese teams sell a lot of talent but for for bargain prices. Portugal and the Netherlands have always been go to countries to find talent at a lesser price.
So in my opinion, it’s big clubs with with egos saying “nah, we’re not paying that for a guy from Portugal”
João Félix is a different case (for anyone wanting to bring that up). He had a transfer clause and is 19.
Bruno Fernandes weaknesses....hmmm.... good question.
I’d say physicality, strength, and tackling. He is not a midfielder to sit back in the pivot roll. He can play box to box (he sometimes does for Portugal) but it’s not ideal.....
Besides that bro. He does everything a creative midfielder does on a world class level. You’ve seen his goals, he scores with such ease, he looks like a number 9. He’s excellent with both feet (and I mean EXCELLENT). He’s fast and has a great work rate. He’s good dribbler (not Bernardo Silva like), but he’s a crafty dribbler, good ball control.
Great vision. He’s a great passer, yes he’s a risky passer sometimes but Sporting aren’t a great team. If Bruno had world class teammates he’d be more subdued. Not to mention the guy can strike a rocket from 35 yards away with both feet, great FK specialist.
He’s has so many strengths man, has an eye for goal like Gerrard and Lampard had, but he has more swag
. Reads the opposing defense very well, always seems to be at the right place at the right time.
