Jazz are 15-1 in their last 16 and everyone knows they have no shot at winning a chip

They're pretty much a suped-up version of last year's team that's playing above their head in the regular season. Also, they're shooting 42% from three, which I believe is unsustainable. If you tell me that they're going to shoot 42% from three in the playoffs, I'll tell you their championship contender but I don't think they can

Lamelo Ball....was technically in 9th grade giving Oak Hill close to 40 points....and ppl thought it was “all hype” and a “gimmick” . Ranked in the top 10 in his class from wire to wire...and some thought he was Liangelo.

I’m looking at you, atlsfinest atlsfinest

People let their blind hate for Lavar influence their opinion on if the kid could play.

:lol::lol: There are a handful who can. Most teenagers aren't ready to play pro basketball at any level, that's what makes guys like Luka Doncic so great, kid is 18 and is playing at a high level against grown men. Lamelo isn't ready physically to play for a pro team. These guys aren't 18-22 you're messing these. These are grown men with kids to feed and they don't care if you were a 5 star prospect at an American high school. They're not gonna be down for LaMelo taking mid-court threes. It'll be interesting to see how he pans out. If he can get off the bench this might be the best thing for his development.

This. The talent is there but I've never seen him play real structured basketball. It's all cherry picking and 35 ft threes. I saw some highlights of a close game they lost last season and Melo and Gelo were just dribbling up court, not running any offense and still jacking up threes. It looks like much of the same here. I want to see him create off the dribble, run a pro-style pick-n-roll, etc. I don't get much from what I've seen so far.

We'll see if LaMelo is good enough to be one of those elite prospects who are worthy of the $125k per season. Also, if the JBA is still around in 2 years, it would be a bad look if its best player, and only attendance draw, opts to play in the G-league as opposed to the JBA

Kobe was sponsored by sprite and they were in charge of the votes. I think he was in the commercial to promote the all-star game. It was kinda rigged and he had no business there. Also he won the slam dunk competition in year prior.

Back to our convo from yesterday.

I guess my biggest issue with what KG said is he (as well as most people that talk about time traveling athletes) is that if you place a player in a Newer generation he/she will pick up the habits/tendencies of those that exist in said generation.

So Joe Dumars that was born in 1963 wouldn't look like Joe Dumars that was born in 1993.

Steph Curry being transferred to the 1976 NBA Season wouldn't be the same Steph Curry of today.

That is why I said those TIme Travel convos are always so silly.

Newer models benefit from modern technology., so they SHOULD be more "advanced." That is a simple fact.

What was I wrong about? In 2017 when I posted that, he wasn't physically ready and we hadn't seen him consistently play organized (no cherry picking, no 40 ft 3-pointers early in the shot clock) basketball.

I even said that the talent was there, I just needed to see it and up until that point we hadn't seen it. I never once said that he's not talented, or that he's incapable of adapting his play style. At age 16 or 17, we just hadn't seen it yet. Look at his highlights at Chino hills, spire and the JBA. It was primarily cherry picking, long three-pointers early in the shot clock and him taking 35+ shots each game

I also called the JBA being a vanity project, a league solely created to prop up his kids and I called that league dissolving the moment his kids didn't need it as a vehicle anymore.

Guy who has been branded a racist is now claiming that voter fraud occurred. Interesting hill to go stand on.
