Dubs goofed by drafting in part based on perceived positional fit and not just going with whoever they thought the best player available was.

I do think wiseman will be good. Just not in the next 2 to 3 seasons.

drafting big men in the lotto is such a crapshoot. Either they are really good immediately or they need at least 3 or 4 seasons to develop.

Warriors just got unlucky.
If they had the 2 pick this year and not last year, the entire conversation around the team is different. The difference between Mobley and Wiseman is that big IMO.

Sometimes you get Wiseman with the 2.
Sometimes you get Mobley with the 2.

Tough luck.

Man, somebody called Wiseman Kwame Brown 2.0, and I spit my drink out :lol

Them hands lmao

On another note....Jamal Murray is breaking out 8o

I see the compelling parts, but what are the holes?

Shot looks rough including his free throw shooting. Careless with the ball, including bad reads, but this is probably due to them trying to develop him into a PG. Defensively pretty weak or it could just be an effort thing.

More so concerned with the shot.

He'll put up big numbers without the efficiency on a bad team. Similar to Wroten back in the process days. But there is a lot of potential there.

They have a 60% chance of being super lucky. Wolves went down with some terrible luck this season so maybe the Warriors "luck" turns around.

Wouldn't write off Wiseman...

Also don't think he's going to be the type of contributor in this next year or two that maybe they thought he'd be though.

That’s what’s frustrating. It’s been obvious from the jump that He’s simply not ready at all yet. A 19 year old that has played 3 games of basketball versus D3 schools over the past 2 1/2 years, is not remotely ready to play any meaningful nba basketball minutes.

The potential is there tho. Raw physical tools etc. But man, he got a lot to work on.

Shaky hands is a big problem for an NBA big and not generally something guys improve on much.

Deandre is interesting because his hands low-key suck on any kind of pass other than a lob. But he’s like Randy Moss when it comes to lobs - or used to be when he was in his prime. It’s kind of wild.

Woooow. Where’s the Michael Rapaport who acted all tough in those car rants?

:rollin

“nobody wants to play with his dog now” :lol

Some years make the mistake of passing on LaMelo Ball for a big, other years you make the mistake of passing on Jalen Suggs for a big.

Warriors really need for either that Minnesota pick to convey this year, or for them to drop out of the playoff picture themselves and get lucky with the lottery.

Without adding one of these top 5 guys in this draft, they are still going to have a tough time even with Klay back next year, IMO.

Other option I guess is to cash-in the draft capital and see if you can get one more piece to go all-in with this core. At some point though don't you have to consider building the next iteration of the franchise? Especially with only one more guaranteed year of having Steve?

How good was wiseman in High school/college?
he was the top kid coming out of his class according to many recruiting sites
definitely the top "big"

he only played a couple gms in college

knew it was going to be a project when he was drafted

If Kerr ever decides to run more pick and roll with him and Curry, they could be onto something.

This. I feel like he needs to be featured more. Only way to develop is in the fire.

I feel he’ll be an 18-20 points 9-11 rebound guy eventually.
