Jaylen injury is the cherry on top to this season where everything that could possibly go wrong did.

Just hope he's back and ready to go by the beginning of next season. Really made some great strides this year.
How long are Tatum and Brown locked in for?

One of the insiders thinks one of Brad, Ainge, or players could be on the block. Also thinks they'd potentially put together a package for Beal. Or Ainge could step aside and be an advisor/consultant to a new GM. Or they could replace Brad with a former player or coach with more NBA experience. Who knows. Watch them just run it back.
For a historic franchise with expectations, you would think the fanbase would be burning Ainge and Stevens at the stake for two of the last three seasons.

The team may be playing second round fodder to Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Philly for awhile.

Haven’t they been to the ECF twice in the last 4 years?

They are.

It's a continuous circle of blame from Kemba to Brad to Ainge to Marcus. Whatever the flavor of the month is I guess.

But they still get a bit of a reprieve because of the stuff they've had to deal with between COVID and injuries.

they’re pretty much stuck until Brown/Tatum take another step.

Like I don’t know how you can put that Miami series on Brad. They were killing the zone for 3 quarters and then forget how to play in winning time. That’s on their young stars. This current season wasn’t anyone’s fault.

Beal is amazing & most importantly young. He has another 5 years at this level theoretically. But if Washington agrees to move him within the conference they’re gonna drain you. I don’t think Tatum, Beal & 10 role players is any better than what they have now.... when healthy

Brad thinks they're too small, based on his recent interviews. He says stuff like "they're a bad matchup for us" "we're really small so we have to play twice as hard."

They are the 7th youngest team in the league. League can look a lot different in 3 years. None of Tatum and Brown's contemporaries have had any more playoff success. Nobody really even close tbh. If they start getting passed up by those players/teams, then I think it'll definitely be cause for concern. It's just rare that really young players have playoff success. Someone like Brandon Ingram is a good, all-star caliber player who was the pick before Brown and he hasn't played a playoff game yet. Devin Booker is about to play his first one later this month.

Cant trade Brown and Tatum. Kemba’s contract is hard to move so Smart, Rob williams Tristan’s salary and they would probably need to Keep their rookies since they are cheap.

Celtics ain’t gonna prosper till they apologize for doing IT dirty.

But seriously, at some point there has to be a convo about all these “almost” stars Ainge keeps trying to get. Hasn’t really worked out yet and It can be argued Terry Rozier is better than Kemba now, so that was a wash.

Their best players aren't even 25 yet, if anything they've been ahead of schedule
They've had one of the the most impressive rebuilds of all time
Feels like they never actually went into rebuild mode

Still didn't make the finals. Regression is on the way swiftly and those cheap contracts those young stars are on are dunzo all the while the East has gotten substantially better around them. Y'all usually a day late and a dollar short on the analysis so this isn't surprising.

Terry is definitely a better all around player. Kyrie/Hayward ruined him though. I don't blame him for wanting to dip TBH.

To me, it really seems to be more on Ainge than Brad or the players. Given the COVID and injury situation, I don't see a reason to overreact. I may be mistaken, but Rob Williams does seem like he's ready to take the starting C job but it's up to Ainge to put a good supporting cast around the starting 5.

Of the 24 games the team has played since the trade deadline, the actual starting 5 that the team would have barring injury only played 7 games and they went 6-1. Average age of that lineup is 25. The full top 7 didn't play any of those games. Hope for better health moving forward and for the young guys to keep improving.

The best thing they can do for him is to re-sign him for the min and let Brad Stevens somewhat revive his career.

Missing their window feels a little aggressive - but the Celtics definitely missed an opportunity or five over the last few years.

Hard to say your window is slammed shut with two all-star level guys under 25 locked into deals and a decent handful of young, solid rotational pieces in hand.

Roster needs some shuffling - and I'm not convinced Danny is the guy to make it all work.

It's refreshing to see reasonable takes in here.
