Nah Carlisle is genuinely trying to help the Mavs. He knows Luka has that coach-killer potential in him...much like JKidd throughout most of his career. Kidd clashed with the coaches on almost every team he was with. Makes sense that he sees Kidd as someone who can relate to Luka and work with him.

Almost every great player in NBA has packed up a coach within their 1st 3 seasons.
