IMO - it’s a bit unfair to compare the 2007 Eastern Conference to the 2021 Western Conference.

Chris Bosh had TJ Ford & Mo Pete and won close to 50 games in that East.

Big Z was an all star in like 06. And Drew Gooden was looked at as a starting 16-18 PPG big :lol. Not to mention Larry Hughes...who came off a great season in 05 & 06.

But people don’t remember team building then. One superstar, one borderline all star...then a bunch of role players to fill the gaps of defense and shooting and some playmaking.

Jason Kidd went to back to back finals with Kenyon Martin as his #2 option. In the East. Kirk Hinrich & Luol Deng won like 50 games in 06...with a rookie Ben Gordon as their leading scorer.

He's also black which DC is familiar with being a black man himself.

No doubt, but knowing the entirety of Clarkson’s background definitely helps clear up the confusion.

None of that explains why he spent the early parts of his career playing like nobody was keeping score 🤣

I mean, Giannis just went for 30/14/6 on 55% shooting in 30 min a night AND won defensive player of the year.

He’s obviously had his issues with the playoffs, but I’m assuming you’re just talking about the regular season.

That’s definitely comparable.
Steph averaged 30 with w TS% of 67% while shooting 11 attempts from 3 per game. I really don’t think they’re close, but that’s more because of the difficult of doing all of that while being a jump shooter. Arguably the greatest offensive season we’ll ever see.

So Steph had a greater offensive season than any of Michael Jordans?

Dynasty is a term that's used too loosely. Never won b2b, nah... not a dynasty

All the 50+ win seasons and championships with the same main core is a dynasty IMO.

All of you are saying Steph was was the best in 2016 the year Lebron dominated him in the Finals.

So was he really even the best?

I don’t want to diminish what LeBron and the Cavs did but to use the term “dominate” is wild. It required several breaks for them to come back 3-1 but they capitalized on them so I can’ take anything away from them for that.

Why even compare a player to a team.

What kind of apples vs Oranges **** is that

I get there vastly different but the fact that Bron is as accomplished as one of the most revered franchises since he got into the league is kind of impressive IMO.

Trae is more of a product of the current NBA. Curry was just #lightyears ahead of the rest of the nba when it came to shooting

Agree.

Last I’m going to say on the subject (for now). I rooted against the Warriors the whole time and was critical of Steph for certain things, but his two-year peak from 2014-2016 was not something I’d seen from an NBA player. Which is not to say it was the best two year stretch I’ve seen; just that it was different due to the array of distance shots Steph was making. He was must-see-TV and contributed to the evolution of the game. It’s also clear he was a huge influence on players that came after. He deserves his due for all that.

Guys in here acting like it was someone else drilling walk-up 30 footers and corner 3s with only a split second to get the shot off. Like Steph is a basketball Milli-Vanilli or something. As our 44th President would say -

Curry’s shooting that year was incredible. All-time great. I guess I was just looking at other factors too. Not just shooting. My bad if I misinterpreted.

I’d compare him to Baha Men or Vanilla Ice, not Milli

Giannis just came off the double dip with the highest PER in league history last season. He flamed out in the playoffs fasho but it was a different kind of dominance.

thread been in shambles I see. Also can anyone else explain to me why Steph’s defense is constantly used to knock him as an all around player, yet no other PG in the league that scores at the rate Steph, is judged by that same metric? Can someone please point out these lock down defenders at the PG position?

John Wall is faster than I thought he would be. Shot is still broken. Spent the last two years getting tatted I guess.

There's plenty of PGs that score the ball at a high rate, just the percentage that he hits the 3 is what's been unique.

Yeah if we talking strictly regular season, it’s on par with ‘16 curry. The numbers say Giannis was better actually
