In Russ' 5th season his QBR was 56.8 and his stats were 21 TD 11 picks. Most people would say his underperforming was due to the play calling which can also be said for Wentz considering most fans feel Doug was calling trash plays the first couple weeks. Not saying Wentz will ever be as good as Russ but a lot of franchise QBs have had off games/seasons.

The issue the first few weeks was that the offense had to try to keep up with the opponent because the defense was struggling. Minus the Bengals game where the offense just beat itself with penalties at bad times. Plus no Goedert, DJacc or Reagor didn't help.

So funny how the media is looking for every and any excuse for the Cowboys underachieving. We underachieve and they're ripping on Wentz, coaching, Howie, etc. Which to be fair, most of us did the same but it was justified. The cowboys play like garbage 80% of a game til Dak throws for 200 yards in the 4th quarter against a gassed defense then they lose and the excuses come pouring in.
